Sadly, TVR does not exist as a going concern.

They were bought by a Russian oligarch's son (Nicholai Smolenski) who wanted to move production abroad, probably to Italy. He shut down the factory but retained the intellectual property rights to the name and some of the cars.

The TVR team is now spread around many other businesses, Smolenski wants to sell the brand for absurd sums and can't and the market for TVRs is nearly gone. A great company ruined by a greedy Russian bastard.

With no driver aids and a stylish fiberglass body, TVRs seem to capture the crude purity and charm of the idealistic driver's car in a way no other car can quite match.

With a 0 - 60 time of 3.8secs, 390bhp, 310lb-ft of torques there is not much that beats it.

I own one and blow away everything that tries. Stick to your subarus and other japanese cars if you like but in a race on tarmac they dont stand a chance.

The problem with comparing a TVR to a JDM car is simply that your TVR will never change once you buy it. That's never true for EVOs and STIs. Stock, a TVR will tear either rally-bred car a new one when it comes to the 1/4 mile. But once you start modding, EVOs can have 600+ bhp. That plus an AWD launch makes TVRs look foolish.

But my god, that Sagaris will always be my favourite looking car, inside and out. Gorgeous. And I tune JDM cars for a living, so that's saying something.
