You're running a mic into a line input on your mixer?.....Why?
You really should use the XLR inputs instead and if you need more than two for your rig, and I'm sure you do....upgrade the mixer.
Alternatively, you could go for a large format interface such as the PreSonus FP10 or similar which won't mix all the tracks down before sending to the computer, which will give you MUCH better sound quality being you can EQ and compress each mic in post-production stages.
@lakeskate21 They all go onto one single track, the only way to get them to appear on different tracks is to get a mixer with as many outputs as inputs and rung a line out for ever mic, and have that line out plug into an audio interface. But if you tune your drum kit right, and use good mics, (The Samson mics work fine) and set the EQ's Properly, just using one final track works fine, just spend lots of time experimenting with mic placement until you find a better sound. And get great overheads
PLZ respond umm the mixer i thought u need the inputs the one with the prongs how do u setup the ones with gutairs cords i seems like sorry im pretty new to this stuff and i just don't understand it. thx
@Jerbalert You can buy cables that go from an XLR (Mic Cable) from the Mic, to a 1/4" (Guitar Cable) on the end, all mixers should have both an XLR Input as well as a 1/4" Input. But If you can, Try to use as many XLR cables as possible, the give a cleaner sound, and don't break as easy. I hope this helps, if you need any advice message me.
I think it's allright, but it could have been alot more better, if you get a better audio interface! with more inputs! I like the cymbals, but I dont think the toms are good... but keep on working! :)

how did you put the mics into the mixer with out the xlr slot
thomascompton800 7 months ago
@thomascompton800 the xlr cables are xlr on one side and a 1/4" mic jack on the other. the mixer has ports for 8 1/4" jacks.

@jmanbassplayer56782 thanks i'm new to this stuff
thomascompton800 7 months ago
@thomascompton800 You can also get " 1/4" to xlr " converters really cheap online. That's what I had to do.
zysilveria 7 months ago
@zysilveria yeah thats what i have. the xlr goes into the mic and then the 1/4" goes in the mixer.
