  • I love this!! Not to be a geek or anything, but I played this song when I was in high school band. It brought back a lot of memories!!

  • WOW!!! my eyes just kept getting wider and wider as i was watching.

  • These are amazing!

Can you please explain how to connect the equilateral triangle units together? I want to make an icosahedral for a virus capsid model.

  • You can learn how to connect the units from a video on youtube,

    called "(HtM*Tetrahedron) Origami".

    Connects around 8:30.

    Good luck on the model.

  • こちらのユニットの作り方は

    "(HtM*Tetrahedron) Origami その6"

    という動画より紹介しています。

  • hi, can you show me the base unit to do this???

  • There's a video called "(HtM*Tetrahedron) Origami" on youtube.

You can learn the base unit there.

  • Oh wow!! This definitely wouldv'e taken you a long time!! Great job!! :)

  • how do you make these modules

  • Whoops. I'm not sure why I said "sonobe" Clearly this is a triangular face unit. Ugh *needs coffee*.

Oh well I will just take the opportunity to say that I loved that you used tiny paper! I love micro origami :D

  • Haha. I've been waiting to see someone finally make the snub truncated icosahedron. I've always thought it was a rather beautiful polyhedron.

You did a wonderful job, someday I'll try to do this with an edge-unit instead of a sonobe. My sonobes always warp in the humid weather here :/

    Awesome work! :D

  • wow. Nice job! Amazing!

  • Are those sonobe modules?

  • Very sorry for not responding soon enough.

No, these are not sonobe modules, and I don't remember what this module is called.

    Difference:

Sonobe units are made from one origami, and a unit has 45 and 135 degree corners.

The unit I used is made from two origamis, and a unit has 60 and 120 degree corners.

  • wow amazing work!!!!!!! can you help me to do the base??? just how to do the modules!!! please thanks!!!

  • Thanks!!!!!!! Yes I can try to help, but you need to fold alot of pieces, which takes alot of time(depending on which module you're going to make). If you have plenty of time, I can send a picture about the module design. First try folding the pieces. You can learn how to make the pieces from a video titled "(HtM*Tetrahedron) Origami".

    Again, thanks for commenting!!!

  • sure thanks a lot for answer!!!!!! i just wanted to make sure about doing one piece and then try to do the hole model!!! thanks again!!

  • Could you do that for me too? That is like an origamist's dream to make! Well, at least, it's my dream.

  • Oh and another thing, do any of the modules for the snub truncated icosahedron have to be the opposite/reverse of the other module?

  • and yes the modules for this have a reverse, too. But it's possible to make other shapes without using the reversed module.

  • So for this one I take it that half of the modules are reverse?

  • Yes, that's right.

  • Sorry for my late response.

Do you want the design for the Snub.T.I.(working on it now)?

  • Yes that would be incredibly helpful.

  • I can't send the design module(.jpeg file) to your youtube account.

Do you know any other way?

  • sure i`ll check the video!!! thanks a lot!!

  • I am Very Impressed, My Friend!
