Im just glad ya mentioned his politics. I wonder how many people have paid real attention to the lyrics of "Born in the USA" Basically all it talks about is what is bad about the USA
"multiculturalism" makes as much sense in America today as Apartheid did in South Africa in the Twentieth Century. Ie it doesn't make sense at all. Both represent forced efforts at engineering a contrived social construct that is inherently flawed, undemocratic and unfree. Lets hope we can bury "multiculturalism" alongside its ugly sisters: Apartheid and Segregation.
I disagree with the notion that being American is an idea. However, in all fairness, there is little difference between today's Mexican immigrants and the immigrants of the late ninteenth and early twentieth centuries. They're simply human beings who want the chance to make a living and support their families, and their own country doesn't provide them with that opportunity, so they come here. What we need to do is secure the border, and then establish an effective quota program.
At the same time, more than 1/3 of immigrants inevitably went back to their home countries because they ran out of money or the current populace treated those members as less than second-class citizens. Sometimes, there is more to the story than what is told.
The push for the North American Union, like the European Union, is going on. I think our leaders are like CEOs who believe their country, or company will not make it on its on.

All righty, SouthernAvenger... as a steadfast subscriber who thoroughly enjoys your videos, this time I do have to say that if when in attendance at a Bruce Springsteen concert you thoughts drifted to the likes of Senator Lindsey Graham, then something was wrong there. Maybe the Boss wasn't cutting it... or maybe you are just the "political weirdo" you describe yourself to be. :)

Eh. This video doesn't really hit anything for me. Then again I am not as into the paleo-conservatism of Pat Buchanan and SA as far as cultural preservation goes.
America and being an American is what you want them to be. When you become American is debatable. Would I be less American if I were to listen to Salsa music instead of the predominantly white and black artists you listed? I think you've made this point better in the past.
I like Jesse Ventura's point on the word American. The word American should be removed from the dictionary since it has been abused so much. I am a citizen of the United States of America and therefore a United Statesian.
Actually you are a citizen of the state in which you reside. That state is part of the United States of America (a league of independent sovereign states). This union of states was intended to be a voluntary one (like a marriage), but since the civil war, it has become all too apparent that "divorce" wasn't going to be allowed by those in D.C. because it would lessen their power. Sadly, the idea of state sovereignty continues to fade in response to distorted historical misrepresentations.
I say all the paleo-cons, libertarians, greens, and other people that still believe in limited government and, you know, freedom move to the same state, over throw its elected officials in the next election cycle then cede.
Sure, we'd get bombed to hell and back faster than we could blink, but it would be worth the shot. >>
I'm all for states rights except that having states rights does not make one immune from external social or cultural forces. and these forces along with the anglo/euro base of USA makes USA what it is, and gives USA it's core identity. therefore creating free states within good ole USA sandwiched between 2 distinct countries and 1 very different culture of Mexico, means that all the free states in USA will still be just like any other state. Unless ur free state is different in radical way-utah
I live in Oklahoma. It is a very... neo-conish state. The big states right thing going on is that the state government is refusing to comply with the real ID act. And it is turning very very ugly. Though the state required us to have our thumb prints taken for our driver's licenses anyway earlier this decade to 'protect us from identity theft'. So yeah, state government is oppressive too here.
Real ID may be acting as the catalyst, but the resolution passed by the State Congress was non-specific to any one issue.
I'll take State tyrannies over Federal tyranny any day. At least I'd have 50 choices of which tyranny I hate the least (rather than no choice at all). Besides, local government would appear to be easier to hold in check by ordinary citizens.
After all, as distasteful as voting is now-a-days, how would you feel if there was only ONE candidate on the ballot?
sorry but I dont own being an american. america owns me! untill we stand up to the bastards they own us all. I was born in the usa only by ungodly imperial force and occupation.
SA, in a land now of 300 million people who have very little in common with each other, 'America' is shrinking and becoming less defineable by the hour. Ultimately it's going to be impossible to keep what is now in reality an empire together. While the folks in Charleston may dance together, what do they have in common with the folks in San Fran or Puerto Rico or Hawaii? Very little. And less so as time goes by. The effort to make a 'universal nation' will ultimately break the US up, I believe.
Good question. 'America' used to be used to describe a broad land of many republics sharing a basic Western Civilization background. Only recent has it become to be used as a 'nation' (a term the Constitition does not use). In reality, there never was an American 'nation' nor is there one today. There are many cultures, languages, backgrounds, religions, etc. ultimately meaning America is a land of many nations. And it's time they no longer had to answer to an all-powerful Federal Gov't.
I know what your saying, and I would add to that the neocons in power, and those who work with them, like democrats who lead us to believe they are separate (republicrats) will break us up, and then will be able to enforce stricter reform on this country and others around us. Very sad what is happening in our world, very very sad.
Everyone I would just like to ask that you excuse my outburst here and my humblest apology. I am just a dirty angry sodden little hobo who angrily terrorizes people on youtube, smearing my smegma infested little penis across other people's videos in an effort to make them bow to my will of world domination. Do I want to give the same mob that keeps putting people in office that believe in forcing their opinions on other people, getting the same government hand outs, and will vote for people (or for a bill, in your case) based on how badly the media scares them into think it is necessary to do so? Not that I am against it, I just think nothing would change.

very good video s.a. it needed to be said because no one will say it from either party. i especially your old style of take on it like what you did on white guilt, the confederate flag, slavery, myspace, guns, virginia tech, smoking, and your muslim videos. which all of those got my blood in my eyes because you were so right and that things are the way they are because of the society we are in.
Good video. While i agree that not all Americans have to be white i think it's important to remember who built the country and who it belongs too. Everyone has a right to their homeland and right now Americans are being dispossessed of theirs. Demography is everything, you lose that you lose your country, there has never been an exception in all history.
Who built this country? Are you implying that europeans exclusively contributed to american cultures? Thats a bunch of manure in cat litter! ALL cultures, black, white brown , yellow , HAVE greatly contributed to American culture in their unique fashion. I find it so disheartened that it is often claimed that America is the culture of individuality , yet this claim quickly evaporates when you find out that so many americans like this jack off want to retain a monolithic culture.
@Pentazoid111 That really is nonsense. In 1965, our population consisted of 85% whites, 13% blacks, and 2% other. Our nation has been defined by our European culture and heritage, and the only other ethnic group that can even lay claim to the US are blacks. Stop with the liberal nonsense.
Not everybody who is opposed to a jingoistic all white nation is A FUCKING LIBERAL! I happened to be libertarian and I don't think that the race of a person or group of people will bring any Positive contributions to society nor would it bring any NEGATIVE contributions to a society. Its a superficial social construct that objectively means NOTHING! Funny thing is, the anglo-saxons used to say the same thing when jews, italians , and irish came over in droves.

I had an idea: Graham's not a real conservative, but a neocon; maybe even a typical liberal. That's the idea and I think it's one of the good ones. :)
(hehe)
Good message, by the way. Maybe the troops in the Middle East are just in an "idea" and there's no reason to "spread democracy" to an idea, so they can just return. :)

The idea of America is an arbitrary concept, and really doesn't exist in objective reality - but I guess I'm going beside the point.
I find this particular sense of patriotism to be quite redundant. To be proud of something you had absolutely no control of accomplishing such as being born within a particular land with non existent lines? Rubbish.
I like my America better, it's basically a breathtaking tour within the mind of Thomas Paine, just soaking in the brillance of that man.
I suggest watching his vid "Race Matters." Often people have pride in characteristics that they have no control of. This includes race, (in many cases) religion, nationality, and family. Family and race are certainly not "artificial" concepts, and in the current world neither is nationality.

I'm just glad you didn't go the Buchanan route and take Americanism to the extreme where you'd say something like "We can't allow a bunch of brown foreigners into America because our cultures are so different they can't assimilate", which is hogwash. Buchanan has really said a lot of weird stuff that could be construed as possible racist or White Nationalist, in his anti-illegal immigration books. It's sad, really. He's too "pro-white".
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I abject to SA comparing believing in freedom to cross borders and the being pro war. Anti immigration is not the same as racism but believing that there is something special about Americans because you get a worm fussy feeling inside when you hear a song is just stupid. Its funny that anti immigration republicans will let in an infinite # of Cubans but hate Mexicans just because they vote dem at a slightly higher rate and that's mostly because they are not wanted by republicans
Probably right. It's like giving amnesty to people who took all the food they wanted from 7 Eleven and more people just show up to get freebies since nothing will happen to them.
Being an American is not the same as understanding America. Just because your a citizen doesn't mean you understand what went into securing the freedoms of the country your a part of, or what needs to be done to keep those freedoms in your hands. If no group owns being an American, what is the point of being here? I am not proud to be a citizen of America. I'm proud to be an American who understands his country and what a privilege it is to live here.
lol @ rightwing declaring the objective existence of nations, all the while ignoring their own constructing the concept in the same act.

No human being on earth is either an "alien" or "illegal" because they moved.
"Americans" can only be defined by their living on the "American" continents, named after an Italian map maker.
"Canadians" do not consider themselves "Americans" (yet), although they reside on the continent of North America.
"Mexicans" living in Mexico, likewise, call themselves "Mexican", not "Americans".

Graham needs to get owned by Conley. Graham is a major jizzball.

It seems amnesty breeds more illegal immigration.
Steadno 3 years ago
Probably right. It's like giving amnesty to people who took all the food they wanted from 7 Eleven and more people just show up to get freebies since nothing will happen to them.

Being an American is not the same as understanding America. Just because your a citizen doesn't mean you understand what went into securing the freedoms of the country your a part of, or what needs to be done to keep those freedoms in your hands. If no group owns being an American, what is the point of being here? I am not proud to be a citizen of America. I'm proud to be an American who understands his country and what a privilege it is to live here.
