There is a ton of info about this place on eastghost . com and also on carantics . com -- Documents show it was at least partly horrific, CIA LSD involvement, apparent instances of purposeful demonic possession. and lots lots more. Read the documentation on those two sites, or you won't believe it.

Chestnut may be linked with Forest Glen (south of Mormon Temple) by more than just the shared involvement of Fort Detrick (biowarfare). We're researching that now on eastghost. CNL was a major, globally renowned facility - hard to overstate. They did not say "no" to the .mil or CIA and in fact were quite involved. NIH also. What a tangled web!

Frank Olson was dug up a few years back and, lo and behold, it turns out his corpse revealed that he had been bapped on the head (to daze him) before he was tossed out that window to his death. Numerous reports of CIA / drug involvement implicate Chestnut in all kinds of psycho-mil weirdness and intrigue. All you have to do is scratch a little, piece the quotes, fill in the blanks of likelihood. Who woulda guessed it, right in the heart of quiet old Rockville, all this drama...

One would-be alum was Frank Olson (see frank olson project) - the liaison between CIA and Army's biowarfare / LSD unit at Fort Detrick who was "suicided" from a tenth-story window at Statler Hotel in NYC, exactly according to CIA's how-to murder instructional book. Katie Graham Meyer (Graham was her middle name) had her husband committed after his infamous 1963 press club speech condemning the New World Order - he appears to have been drugged (LSD?) or forced there. certainly precedent for that.

You MUST check out Dave McGowan's writings about LAUREL CANYON MUSIC SCENE, that ties together the military, CIA, Charles Manson, Rolling Stones, The Doors, David Crosby, Frank Zappa and hundreds if not thousands of musicians. Did you know Manson recorded with the Beach Boys, that they hung out with Zappa, and Sharon Tate's dad was a CIA officer? The connections are shocking and far too numerous to be accidental.

I cant watch this...I was a resident of the bad little hoodlum division in 89-90, this is one of my best memories as a kid...CNL was great, it wasn't an asylum anymore at that point, as kids we weren't medicated(some were), we weren't mistreated...we had a pool and an art studio for fux sake!!

dude i dont think anyone died there and ya i only live three blocks away from this. im surprised i didnt hear the sirens going off. yea everyday i drive by that place, its so sad that its gone. i hope they find who did it cuz im pissed

@streetsJG Yes people died there, in fact many. I was a patient there when I was 15 yrs old 1972-1976.

Many suicides and I know of one murder during my time there. I was having lunch with a patient who was a Professor at University of Chicago and the next morning he hung himself. This was before the children's hospital opened. I still have bad dreams about the place

during my sophmore year ('60) in richard montgomery high school a good friend of mine lived not more than 2 blocks from the lodge. after playing a few sets of tennis on b. welsh's courts, not far away, we would cut through the lodge property to go to his house for lunch. for a place so large, the silence was deafening.

What a heartbreaking sight. The old building and property was a huge part of my growing up in Rockville. it was a great piece of history, I hope they catch the garbage that Lit the place up. gee, anybody check if the property developer had a hand in this????

I almost cried when i saw this because it was the day before literally when i was there and the crazy women was taking pictures. I was almost getting readdy to go inside too until my mom made me go home. I live a block down and i heard the fire engines my mom came out half naked and shouted "SHUT THE FUCK UP"
