at work i operate an industrial shredder and we always shred this stuff. We call it cast iron. We also shred exturtion, zorba, painted materials. Although it sounds cool its not cuz whenever it gets jammed we have to get into the shredder and its always a risk. Last week it was like 112 outside cuz i live in az and when we shred cast iron, the pieces come out steaming or sometimes with flames from the heat.

those are vw aircooled h4 engine blocks, not castiron at all. magnesium, are bit denser than aluminum and much more brittle.
