The reason you do not see stars in these videos is because the amount of light reflected off the earth far outshines the meager twinklings of distant suns. If the camera were to pan outwards, away from the light reflected off the earth, then you would see many stars. Hope this clears up the misconception and allows you to enjoy these amazing images.

@NASA and SOHO: Does anyone know what caused the major geomagnetic turbulences and high flux values (up to 150 nT) from July 19- 3.00 on (still continuing but decreasing) I wrote an email ro SOHO to ask whether there were any undetected CMEs on archived LASCO images- but as ever got no answer yet. Or was it the large Coronal hole CH466, which has not yet rotated fully out of earth influencing position? On 19 we had extreme heavy weather and all day long on 20th we had gaps in radiotransmissions.
I don't know how much their maintenance costs or how big their ecological footprint is compared to e.g. Soyuz-capsules, but it's still sad to see these incredible machines retire.
This is soo poetic and beautiful it makes me wanna cry, why isn't everyone watching this? This is the most amazing thing on this planet , oh good the thing I'd do to experience something like this :( my respect and admiration for this people is just massive
