@Bodycake Augemented reality glasses? They are here in less than 5 years. If you are looking for night vision it already exists, was on TED talks some weeks ago.
How about using stem cell research in combination with electrical stimulation to regrow the Myelin sheath and have dude possibly walk again
the research is sound, and can be found in duke medicine-new england journal of medicine
I wish we would stop playing politics with peoples lives and start giving a shit about poor souls trapped inside of their own bodies...brings a whole new meaning to the song "My Body is a Cage"
I just hope one day people will start standing up for people like him
@sn1pe352 Many people suffering paralysis are missing part of their spinal cord, either from injury or from having artificial vertebra implanted and will not see any benefit from stem cells in the next twenty years or more.
We are nowhere near being able to grow a whole new spinal cord, not yet anyway.
@Atheistprimate Oh wow ive met my first curb side physician, nice to meet you and thanks for breaking my cherry
You are absolutely incorrect in many ways, they have completely severed spinal chords in mice, used stem cell therapy in concordance with electrical stimulation and other drugs, and within 4 weeks time the myeilin sheath had been completely regrown...the mouse has full function of its body again
I'm extremely tired and don't feel like explaining more, the videos are on my youtube
@sn1pe352 I am not talking about a severed cord, i am talking about people missing six inches or more of their spinal cord. I am not a physician nor claimed to be one, but ive lived with a spinal cord injury since Aug 1992 and i know a few things about the subject.
Read what i typed again, or take a nap since clearly you missed the point i was making.
@Atheistprimate My sympathy to you, I myself have a severe c1-c3 injury and had to undergo a massive amount of surgeries and other things in order to walk again
I am truly curious at what happened to make you lose 6 inches or more of your spinal chord?
and if you would be willing to give me more information maybe there's something i could do to help?
anyways regardless of our differences i would still like for you to check out my electro-medicine : biological physics playlist and talk to me
@sn1pe352 I am not missing any of my cord, my injury was just a bruising type that none the less has left me paralysed from the chest down. But i know of others, like the motorcycle road racing champion Wayne Rainey, who broke so many vertebra that they had to have large sections of their spinal cords removed when they had plastic vertebra added so they could sit upright.
My injury was from a dirt bike crash that crushed my T5 vertebra. I subbed to your page and will check out your videos.
@Atheistprimate They have been growing new hearts and livers and bladders. It's just a matter of time before they start growing replacement nerve tissue. Sure there will be a retraining period (sort of like wearing upside down glasses flips everything right side up after a couple of weeks), but there is hope I would say.
pretty depressing that they give that technology to white trash instead of people who could actually do something with their lives, very poor judgment, don't trow pearls to pigs
@hiyalk right, as opposed to calling random people "arrogant fuck", that's much better, that's not judgmental at all... you prove my point you p.o.s. inbred cousin fucking trailer trash :)
The impact of this technology is astounding. You could not only have cyborgs, one day instead of having foreman and workers, all it would take is one construction worker acting like a foreman updating and controlling several robots all working towards building infrastructure which would drive down the costs (leading to cheaper housing). There are so many advanced medical applications too that could be used...fascinating stuff. =)
We are living in the future. There was a while when everyone was saying "its obviously not going to happen anytime soon. Maybe in a hundred years" And here it is, all those things you see on sci-shows are real, but noon notices because it feels perfectly normal.
I remember there was a sci fi book i used to read. The aliens gave this kid a device that he can use as a phone AND WATCH TV AND PLAY GAMES ON! IT FIT IN HIS POCKET, OH MY GOD SO ADVANCED! Now look at us, lol
A little disturbing to see the monkey has to suffer but, im guessing thats the price to pay for a cyborgy future. Not that thats Entirely a bad thing.

they don't suffer really. the electrodes are surgically implanted and the monkey still can move it's arms.
