Tears well up as I remember the world's remarkably beautiful actress. Once in a very long while a star is born and there was Audrey - a genuinely kind and gentle lady. Lucky were they who became part of her life. One cannot help but admire her every act on and off screen.

One of my favorite performers is also one of my favorite people. Unlike most celebs, who seem to pay lip service to whatever the current charity of choice happens to be, Our Fair Audrey wasn't afraid to go to the far-flung corners of the world, and get her hands dirty, for UNICEF, and at least two generations of the world's children owe her a debt of thanks that can only be reciprocated, never repaid.

She was also my first big crush after seeing "My Fair Lady" as a six or seven year old.

Did you see her kissing the woman's hand without hesitation? It's true act of compassion. Of course she's not a perfect human being but it's so aspiring to see her using her fame for good cause. As she wrote in her memoir: I'm not a politician, I'm a mother and will travel.

And now I'm proud to say I have donated a small amount of money to her foundation :). It might not be big but at least I'm trying to do my part as Audrey had done hers.
