An power grid here if it where too fail would have lasted longer so maybe it is the activity around that caused it. Prepping is always a good thing to do based on all the active threats we face whether its man-made or natural. Always have at least 30 days of food and water for your family at a minimum. Rice, beans, oats, etc is a good place to start and affordable.
