I live in is about 5 minutes west of Chicago,yet out here many homes had out houses as late as the 30's.That's because this was farm community until the post war housing boom of 50's.

My house was built in 1892 and i don't think it had plumbing at all.

@bingobongo445 You're probably right about that one. This is something we rarely mention, but homes built before the 1900s, might not have plumbing or electrical and if they currently do were installed years later.
