Make sure that Full Dynamic Range effects are disabled. That bloody setting is always what causes me to lose about 20 FPS.

The DR nerf bug was basically a glitch in programming during the Classless Update. Basically, they decided to change some values around to make the different watch attributes plus or minus certain percentages, instead of both being +160% or something like that. And, due to a blunder, it meant the Dead Ringer's cloak only lasted 4 seconds while the cloak and dagger lasted 8.

Yeah, I play on a laptop. It's surprisingly good for TF2, but I get about 20FPS on L4D2.

I normally destroy this map with the Dead Ringer. All the alternative paths are really useful for spying in general.

Yeah, IMO the friendly pyro is the best of the friendly disguises. It's intimidating to enemy spies / scouts, has no movement speed reduction and has a reason to be at the front lines alone.

The fake friend death tactic is very useful for crossing the front lines, since nothing seems odd about an enemy unit dying to a bullet. However, an obvious spy wandering around uncloaked on the enemy side of the field just SCREAM Dead Ringer.

Pretty much any time behind enemy lines and don't think you're going to get backstabbed / random critted / headshotted.

Unlike me, try and keep the DR down as much as possible, so you don't accidentally use it on something minor.

Yeah. Sometimes it is hard to predict though. I guess if there's a spy, soldier or sniper around it should be up. It's annoying when I blow it on a pistol shot.

No, this was the Hampshire Heavies servers.

A lot of servers use the announcer killstreak sounds. It's really only a choice between those and the ones from TFC.

Yeah, I realised I needed to use a lower resolution while going from demo to video. And then use the right resolution otherwise things get squished.

And then the right video option so things don't asplode.

Is there an easier way to convert demos to avi's without using fraps or xfire?

Enter this into the console:

startmovie (name of movie) avi

Then just play the demo (framerate will appear to be awful, but in reality it's fine at lower resolutions) and then type in endmovie when you're done. Just google around for demonstration videos.
