I had to good fortune of hanging with the Gang at their after party last week in NYC. They were such sweethearts, especially the new bassist, Thomas McNiece. He's a real cool dude and a nice addition to the group.
I have been following Gang Of Four for 25 years. One of my favorite bands and really happy to see and hear them around again. Real music for the people to hear. Pay attention!
Another vote (from an ancient relic Go4 fan) that says this rebooted band is bollocks... gritty does not equal cutting... scraping does not equal scathing... and you can pander while still "retaining your principles"... this song (and the others on pre-release) is the essence of predictable, boring, unfresh, heard it before agitprop... they have the spirit, but not the feeling...

I was a bit apprehensive when I heard they have a new album, cause I was hooked on them since the Entertainment days, and they are my age now... but yes, THEY STILL GOT IT! Great music, GOF! Andy, your playing is still unique and highly inspirational. Thank you.

First let me say that I love Go4. Always have, always will. But I must say that this video is embarrassing. These guys are the dog's bollocks and need not pander to anyone. Someone's been whispering in their ear and if this is the result, methinks they need to listen start listening to those voices in their heads again which made them so fecking brilliant in the first place. Calm yourself there Mr Gill before you have an aneurysm.
True POST-PUNK innovators of FUNK ROCK genius! Six steps forward from To Hell With Poverty.... No steps back. The new 2011 album "Content" has shining moments of brilliance built on the foundations laid in Entertainment, Solid Gold and Songs Of The Free. Top picks from the album include You'll Never Pay For The Farm, You Don't Have To Be Mad and Second Life... RIPPING!!!
These guys are my heroes. And I love when heroes reform with good intentions. But I'm sorry, this bass player looks like such a douchebag. Bring back Dave and Hugo now you old bastards.
expectations were sky high, I had the shivers hearing that sound again, song is quite good, it's Ok gang, I really enjoyed reading the comments here, good and bad, hey so we have Gof, killing joke, wire etc still around it's cool!
Love it! Nothing hits the spot like the Gang. Everytime I put on Entertainment, Songs of the Free, etc. I marvel at how good it sounds. Glad to have new songs. Come to Detroit!
Take it out of that! excellent song and video, Dont let the EDGE or Bono see this or you can imagine what U2,s nex album will sound like, Ive been into this band since the first album, their integrity and freshnress still stands in tact, long may you last, look forward to Dublin gig! they demolished the place in 08, ONWARD AND UPWARD!
We'll never get Entertainment! again but this is pretty good. Saw the band live at the first reunion tour and it was one of the best shows of the year. I'm looking forward to the band touring on this new album.
The guitar/bass work is classic 1979, returning in good form. Vocals/lyrics are a HUGE step backward, however. Regardless of the detriment, I still really enjoy this new work of theirs.
Just posted this on my facebook group 'Support UK Bands'

Solid Punk Rock - 30 years after their initial success, and they still got it!

Okay, so I came late to the party, but this song kicks ass (certainly for this century of course). It's good to have them back.

@CatObsessed: That was probably just the crew -- this is essentially a music video so no real audience was there.
