He knows these animal are wild & that they could kill him.so he respects the cues they give him. these are animals he has built patient relationship over so many years. if one day, a lion will attack him I think he'd die doing the thing he loves, with the companionship he loves for a cause he is passionate about. death only happens only once in our life, but not everyone can live a life of meaning.

@Chips0dspic0Chips Actually it depends on how far the animal behavior that can be changed. Of course the instincts for hunting will always be there but he sure seems to have learned a lot. I wouldn't call that stupid, I would instead call it amazing. Owning that many lions and hyenas and still not gotten killed? That's not luck, it's knowledge. He even said it himself, if he got killed and got a second change...well he would do this all over again.
