@cjcarl66 I dropped him using Eager Cleaver and maxed out Hermitaur Gear during the elder quest. As for the HR2-3, now in MHFU, I wouldnt really reccomend it. Ive been struggling like hell using a full set of maxed Kushala using Devil Slicer, maybe Im just rusty or reckless, this bad boy has been harassing me for a while. I may just go back to my roots for this guy and grab a GS.

@14thrall Would take a long time to kill it, since the blade has a lower attack. Then again, if u are able to evade the attacks and land your hits successfully, you'll have Tigrex dead eventually!

umm is the RED WING any good against tigrex?

@paperboy725 If I'm correct red wing has a fire affinity right? If so dont use it use something that has a thunder affinity, or has a good attack strength. I use my diablos maul to defeat him first time since I didn't have a weapon that has a thunder affinity to it. Hit and Run manuever works well for beginners.

i think the best weapons for tigrex are:

1- Hammer(if u are good wiyh it)

2-GS

3-Lance(with Guard+1)

I can charge a level 2 hit at its head when its in rage mode but it doesn't make him stagger causing me tremendous dmg. Any help on that?

this is a shitty GS ... take the krin GS if it's possible for you or, i don't know how it's called in english, in german it's called "chromrasiermesser".

@e4mt my guess is youre talking about the "chrome razor" but for people stuck at this quest seigelinde is easier to get than the chrome razor and about the same raw damage

it's better to kill him..

because if you use tranq bomb..

you can't curve him for some items requirement...

if tirgex fall asleep..

charge him..

it doe x3 damage..

I very well know that an attack on a sleeping monster inflicts 3x more damage. I also know that capturing a monster gives you much better rewards at the end of the quest, and that makes up for the loss of carving him 3 times.

Siegmund i think takes like HR6 materials to make, try sieglinde its not as good but its easy to make and has 912 raw damage

It depends but I think Ratalos Soul(blue) is better because you have the earplug skill that you can upgrade with jewels to high grade earplug.

What I would do is I would go for Ceanataur amour and then go on fighting Tigrex at the village quest to get Tigrex amour.

Weapon wise I would get bone blade and probably upgrade it to Sieglinde which is easily attained, then work on an executioner for a Diablos Blade.

Yea any GS is ok as long as you time your blows to the head as much as possible. And don't get hit too much.

Even without earplugs, you can go to his side and start attacking only HALFWAY during the roar. Just stay away till halfway thru the roar.

The trick is to keep your index finger on the D-Pad while using your thumb on the Analog so you can turn the screen to look at your opponent. Your finger might ache, it takes some time to get used to.

Ah Long Swords, armed with the thunder element packs a punch against Tigrex :) Sadly you won't use devil slicer alot in the future.

It doesn't really matter as long as you don't attempt to hit him in rage mode. Usually after 2 charges he staggers, sometimes in 1 charge.
