  • goddamn thats fast.

  • ill agree with ou the garrards have the best sound of any turntable ive heard

  • Wow! Nice record, nice player. I've never heard a 78 that sounded so clear!

  • That song swings hard! Great find, nice job with the old Garrard. Looks like it runs like a top.

  • Lets cut the rug!

  • does anyone know how to relpace the stylus in these things?

    please help

  • Hey great vid, got the same deck except mine is the wooden plinth version. Never had the pleasure of playing a 78 on it though. Don't think I've ever heard a 78 sound so good!

  • This was recorded as a "single 78" for [RCA] Victor on June 26, 1941, 'jose'. If you wanted an "album" in those days, you usually got an accordion binder of four records, which looked like a photograph album (hence, its name).

  • The tone arm moves from side to side because the hole is very slighty off centre.

    John.

  • i have a garrard like the one in the video dad bought it in germany back in the early 70s still have it to this day and still use it still works like new

  • I got a garrad zero 100 in Vietnam...but it's real klunky when you change settings....chunk!!! Concept is great, but machine to be better it needs more mass in the wheel, and also the whole frame. Surprise that nobody else really evolved the zero 100 ideas...

  • @andrewcrawfor1381 i have a 65b from the 60's that beats out all of the new turntables in sound.

  • Hehe, what a sound!

Awesome setup you got, no clicks or hiss.

  • great song.whats the album name?

  • I have an audio-technica turntable with a 78rpm stylus. The sound would blow your mind.

  • No clicks and pops! how'd he do that?!

  • there were a few...they were a bit hard to hear though. had to turn up the volume a bit to hear them :P. this guy takes excellent care of his records

  • wow.

  • Yeah i have four Garrards myself. Zero 100, Slx3,440m and gt-15. New grado cartridge in the 440m sounds fantastic!

  • Now THAT's what I call music!

  • SLAMMIN' JAM!

We Swing and Bop to this endlessly in da 'Hood - nuttin'like da DUKE!

  • Sir Duke!! I love a Garrard. Those needles and magnetic cartridges can handle the 78's very well. I'm looking for another one myself. You've convinced me I won't be satisfied until I get one. I'm going back to collecting records again, myself. I've got a GE, suitcase style, nice player but I want my Garrard back. The only other one I like is BSR.

  • Hey good luck in your quest to get back into vinyl and shellac. Glad you liked the tune!

  • Great sound from a 78!! Not hardly any hiss at all!!!

  • I Want that Turntable NOW!! They DON'T built quality like that anymore! EVEN Technics turntables are a poor match in comparison to the Garrard tables!

  • Are you using a 78 stylus for this?

  • yes, it is a .003" conical diamond stylus made aftermarket for the Shure M91ED cartridge.

  • Cool!

  • It is a fun little tune isn't it. Thanks for havin a look. Stephanie
