Hey great vid, got the same deck except mine is the wooden plinth version. Never had the pleasure of playing a 78 on it though. Don't think I've ever heard a 78 sound so good!
This was recorded as a "single 78" for [RCA] Victor on June 26, 1941, 'jose'. If you wanted an "album" in those days, you usually got an accordion binder of four records, which looked like a photograph album (hence, its name).
i have a garrard like the one in the video dad bought it in germany back in the early 70s still have it to this day and still use it still works like new
I got a garrad zero 100 in Vietnam...but it's real klunky when you change settings....chunk!!! Concept is great, but machine to be better it needs more mass in the wheel, and also the whole frame. Surprise that nobody else really evolved the zero 100 ideas...
Sir Duke!! I love a Garrard. Those needles and magnetic cartridges can handle the 78's very well. I'm looking for another one myself. You've convinced me I won't be satisfied until I get one. I'm going back to collecting records again, myself. I've got a GE, suitcase style, nice player but I want my Garrard back. The only other one I like is BSR.
I Want that Turntable NOW!! They DON'T built quality like that anymore! EVEN Technics turntables are a poor match in comparison to the Garrard tables!
goddamn thats fast.

The tone arm moves from side to side because the hole is very slighty off centre.

Are you using a 78 stylus for this?
vintage70 5 years ago
yes, it is a .003" conical diamond stylus made aftermarket for the Shure M91ED cartridge.
