    213333 333311 31 33 21 22 44 22 1221224224444

hope this helps to anyone =D

  • @GamerGuyReviews yeah thats it. good job. fun scrape set to play.

  • OMG i dont understand how to play the paradiddle-diddle parts. i dont know what drums to hit with each diddle and all that. is there anyone that can break it down for me like 1 being the top drum - 4 being the low drum. (example 12112122 paradiddle) if any1 gets what im saying please help haha

  • Lol I think it's funny how now SCV is with Innovative Percussion....Vic Firth is really losing alot of corp deals is there a problme with the company?

  • @moore2hold I think its more of a shifting in personnel. Rennick is now at SCV and hes been an IP guy forever. No one gets the Blue Devils thing...

  • he hits the 3 like one time...

  • ur 3 is DEAD same with ur four

  • Never mind, guys. I read some of the below comments, and I now have the entire sheet music transposed. Thanks, guys.

  • What I can't figure out is if the paradiddle-diddles and the whole run after them are tripolets, or straight 16th notes. In my head, playing paradiddle-diddles as straight 16th notes in a 3/4 time signature just wouldn't work. They'd have to be tripolets. But somehow, that's not making sense either. Can anyone answer this for me? Thanks.

  • @NateGomes Correction on my explanation for others who read it - the first measure's 2 paradiddle-diddles, the next one is six regular diddles, the third is the singles measure. Sorry I was rushing lol

  • Thank you everyone. Yes I figured it out now and can play the whole thing.

  • Yes! I just finished transcribing it! :D I'ma practice all day to tomorrow and try to post a vid of it soon :D Also Bluecoats 2010 movement 2 quad solo and lion king lick tenor part

  • Tutorial part starts at 1:00

  • @kaikaichen aw dude sorry I kind of for some reason stupidly thought you were the person in the vid lol my bad. But it's all good I figured it out anyway. I can play the whole thing now.

  • @kaikaichen he could you clarify something? i'm trying to learn this and its a little hard to follow at 1:49. you say your doing only two paradiddlediddles but there seems to be more than just diddles after it. Or are those just scrapes because it seems like you're doing paradiddlediddles there.

  • @unusuallynormal231

Um this is embarrassing, but... I'm not actually a drummer, haha. A lot of my friends are, though, so I'm like a fanboy. So... I don't actually know anything about drumming....

  • @unusuallynormal231

Hey I just transcribed the whole thing, there ARE only two paradiddlediddles. The next 3/4 bar is ALL diddles and YES there are some scrapes in there. From drum 3 to 1 toward the beginning, and from drum 2 to 1 shortly after. Besides those it's just diddles on drum 2 and 4.

That bar after the paradiddlediddles is (numbers = drums): 3133 2122 4422, all RRLL.

On the next 3/4 bar it's all SINGLES (RLRL) from the first drum 1 rimshot on; 1:57 ish in the video.

  • @unusuallynormal231 he is doing scrapes, just splitting the paradiddles around, ill write the rights and lefts with the drum #s below:

    RLRRLLRLRRLLRRLLRRLLRRLLRLRLRLRLRLRL

    2133333333113133212244221221223222333

    HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

  • @unusuallynormal231 well its paradiddle paradiddle diddle diddle diddle diddle diddle diddle then three counts of sixteenth note singles around the drums

  • Comment removed

  • @unusuallynormal231 i believe i figured it out it is paradiddlediddle paradiddlediddle scrape diddle scrape diddle diddle diddle or the drums are 2133 3333 3311 3133 2122 4422

  • @unusuallynormal231 The part is two paradiddles, then six diddles afterwards, that part wasn't explained very well. So yes there are only two paradiddles in it, but I guess the second one is a paradiddlediddlediddlediddlediddlediddlediddlediddlediddle lol. So yeah two paradiddles then six diddles, only one is a scrape (I think it's the third diddle) the rest are just diddles on one drum. After that is just the sixteenth note rhythm that he played and then you'll have that phrase.

  • Comment removed

  • @unusuallynormal231 Its 2 paradiddles.

  • @unusuallynormal231 it goes from diddles into three beats of 16s that are split, if thats what you mean if not get back with me, i should be able to help you out i know this lick pretty well

  • what kind of heads do you use to get that type of sound ?

  • are those emperor suedes?

  • Excuse Limit - 0

  • there coated heads there not clear thats why

  • wearing a zildjan shirt for a vic firth video??

  • he looks like abraham lincoln

  • its probably the sticks

  • I have a couple of summer projects lined up, outside of Summer Camps and training, including some house stuff and making a couple of websites. I think i'm going to dip into my past and try to learn this... just for old times sake.

  • Hey I've seen this guy around before at comps and shit lol

  • He's not a fan of hitting rims. Well done

  • very nice

  • what kind of sticks r those

  • i think vic. murray gusseks because he's scvs mainn drum instructor guy

  • i think their Hardimons cuz gusseks werent out at the time

  • I'm pretty sure scv got gusseks when they were just a prototype. and weren't yet released to the public

in the 2009 scv audition vid he says that last year(2008) they used his signature stick

  • @hablablu34 yeah dude their prototype gusseks. i got a pair from one of the 08 tenor players.......man they so tight

  • they are hardimons

  • excellent work!

  • hey it's ronnie, I remember he cut my finger open during camp in 06

  • i wish i could read music

  • if they know the part then sure ?? wtf?

  • wow? this is easy lol

  • i have the sheet music if ne 1 is interested for trade...

  • Paradiddle-diddle-diddle-diddle-diddle-diddle

    Interesting..

  • I'm pretty sure it's actually 6 diddles, not 5.

  • That was six. But yes, this is cool.

  • When is SVC gonna be on top again!? Going to the dallas show Jul. 16th, HELL YEAH!

  • "Again"?

lol don't joke around like that

  • Does anybody have sheets for this?

    Willing to trade.

  • dude i have it. what are u willing to trade for it

  • I'm sending you a message with all the stuff I've got.

  • well for 866596 what he's playing rquires him to play out the zone a bit to achieve the cleanliness that SCV' 6 man tenor line achieved and it's at 210 so it's crazy hard..

  • dosent look too hard. ill try to learn some of it tomorrow. does anyone know where to get it?

  • SCORES?

  • those drums sound like set or concert toms not tenors.......

  • To me they don't sound like concert toms, but I do agree with you that they sound different than the tenors I'm used to hearing. They sound... higher and tighter.

  • well dont forget this was filmed in a classroom

  • @kaikaichen They sound gorgeous. :)

  • @kaikaichen I just moved and my new school use these, i like the mylar more but agree they sound higher and tighter

  • @kaikaichen Some of it is the small room, some of it is the fact that hes alone and the camera is up close, some of it is the less than ideal camera mic... add in the fact the tenors are outfitted with coated heads and the fact that gusseck seems to favour a lower pitched drum 4... there is nothing really all the different in the way these drums sound.

  • @LHDLsnare13 Are you serious? They sound great.

  • @LHDLsnare13 Pearls in general have a deeper tone to them then other brands

  • @LHDLsnare13 It is probably the Coaed heads first time I hear coated Tenor heads

  • is it just me or what...but whats up with the 3rd drum? i cant fully tell if hes playing out of the zone or its not tuned either one seem rare, they should be able to play in the zone while sleeping and those drums should always be tuned being DCI...

  • sounds like a new head to me

  • nice breakdown

  • Comment removed
