  • Very very good, fantastic. Well done. I like Yes very much, and have some DVD's of Steve Howe. He plays "Excerpts from Close to the Edge" exactly in the same way as you play in this video. Do you have more Yes acoustic versions?. A hug from Santa Cruz - Bolivia

  • hi chris just saw your vid close to the edge very NICE !! MIKE

  • AWESOME! I don't give away "awesomes" lightly. Cut my "guitar teeth" back in the mid-70s to Yours is No Discrace, so i been playing a long time and know how difficult Howe is to follow. Great vid Chris. Adding you to my heroes list! :-)

  • Even though I wasn't around to hear them in their time of glory, I always found this song to be so relaxing.

    Absolutely amazing job Chris.

  • smile dude!your a kick-ass guitarist!

  • I just have a question about the "in her white lace" part. The chords progression (mine) is G#m, Bm, F#m, Am and then what????

  • B Major

  • Excellent, you're an great guitar player! I was a real Yes freak back in the 70's. Saw them in concert 5 times. Those were the good old days, eh? They don't have bands like Yes, ELP and Tull any more, not even close. What brand guitar is that? Sounds real nice.

  • Thanks, Gark50. Yah, they just don't make music like they used to. I play a Takamine Classical guitar.

  • technology

  • that was awsome man

  • Wow. It's a year later. This time I am struck by the outstanding video and editing work. Sure, it's a 4 minute clip, but I hope viewers can appreciate the amount of time and effort done by the artist to get the result we see.

A 5 Star effort with ease. Good luck to you Chris.

  • Thanks for your kind words, Bluntfacts!

  • Thank you, patriotlivefreeordie

  • That was a great job.

  • thank you, patriotlivefreeordie

  • That is beautiful. How come you chose to do the first part with a pick? So you could continue into the next part with full strumming?

  • I guess because that's how Steve Howe plays it on his solo performances.

  • I cryed... So wonderful.. You`re great... Thank you!

  • You thought I was done right? No! This is the masterpiece of all YES songs. Ever. Just to attempt it is beyond my comprehension. Thank-you. I saw them in 1977 in Birmingham, Alabama.

  • Wow, You are amazing, great sound with the classical guitar, sounds very jazzy!

  • Dude! I honestly thought and sincerely, that I was the greatest YES fan ever, that ever lived. But. I was wrong. I acquiesce. You are the greatest YES fan. Bravo.

  • Muito foda, parabens!

  • /Watching talented people like you inspires me to pick up my guitar and start playing again. BRAVO!!! BTW, what type of guitar are you playing? Along with your talent, it sounds great. Thanks for posting.

  • Wonderful. Listening to every one of your vids, and they all sound awesome. Just wonderin', but have you tried any of Steve's more modern day stuff? I just want to see how you would play those pieces. Thanks for listening and keep on playing! It's fantastic!

  • my respect. that's a great but comples song. you are talented. congrats

  • Very good. But I'm seeing a huge lack of Starship Trooper when I look through your vids.

  • And when I see it three months later, all I can do is applaud from Las Vegas. Easily in the A range; probably even A+.

Now a request Chris: your version of And You And I.

  • Loved that man! If I could do that in the late 70's and early 80's, i would have got laid more..lol

  • really good the best work 5 stars of course

  • EXCELLENT!! very well done!

You're one of the best guitar players I've seen on youtube by far!

  • Great playing. Wish you would have left the split screen in the upper right the whole time to see all of your playing. Very cool idea doing the vocal part in split screen. Like to hear more. thanks.

  • Lovely. Thank you for sharing

  • Watching this a second time, this is simply fantastic. Even while I am typing this and cannot see the video, the sound alone takes me back to many great Yes concerts in the 1970s. I cannot replay those concerts, but I can replay this here in 2007. Splendid effort.

  • nice- nice work!

  • Very nice job, thank you.

  • Wow - fantastic. This was always one of my favorite Yes songs, and your version was fun to listen to. It's tough enough to learn and play the piece, but to sync the video/soundtrack together was beautiful. Your video is in my favorites now.

  • In her white lace...Awesome!

  • I love how you have the two overlapping videos, what program did you use? if you don't mind saying.

  • Ulead Videostudio 7

  • The sound you can't hear is applause coming from Las Vegas. I saw Yes a few times in the 1970s and also saw Steve Howe twice, so I don't say this lightly when I say this video is outstanding. It truly captures the emotion of the song. Well done Chris.

  • Excellent. This song was a little hard to listen to at first (the original I mean, yours sound very nice), because I was just getting into Yes at the time. Now it sounds wonderful. Thanks for the excerpt.
