That is a GSD being both curious and friendly toward a baby rabbit, wild or not. Rabbits are jumpy like that, so are domesticated pets like CATS. They can be just as jumpy when near dogs, or whenever one sticks its big nose in their face. Stop overreacting, people. It's not eating the rabbit, is it? or wildly chasing as if it's prey. C'mon.
I realy take care of animals , agrre, may the bunny is very little and bay but....the dog don't hurt him juste stay near him, and the bunny looks just in alert, but not scared or too scared, just jumping around...i think so...
@CSDstravels you do know that rabbits can be kept as pets too you know what about dogs before they werent tamed by man so they seemed like wild dogs but later on man finally tamed dogs so now there no longer wild as they were prefferred to as before
@chipchapeatme Umm, yeah, domestic rabbits are routinely kept as pets. That there is a wild rabbit. Gray wolves and domestic dogs belong to the same species, but I wouldn't take an orphaned wolf pup into my home. There are wildlife rescues for these situations.
@chipchapeatme re right i thought you were gonna start cursing swearing in my face or something i really aprrieacte that you didnt get agressive at me
:\ granted, if its a wild bunny, its prolly scared out of its mind, and having something of a panic attack. but the Magnus seems nice- just curious apparently. and as long as the bunny didnt get hurt, all is good. just remember- its wild, not a pet :(
German shepard: sniff sniff sniff....would you hold still?......sniff sniff...don't got under there!.....sniff sniff.......jeeeeezzzzzz would you stop?
that rabbit wouldn't have made it a second around my gsd. There is one thing he loves to do and that is shake the life out of any rabbit he can get ahold of.
all you people are stupid. I could see it being mean if the dog freaking ate the bunny, but otherwise I see nothing wrong with this. That dog's not doing anything and the bunny is just doing what bunnies do... running. That's like saying I'm a terrible person every time a squirrel runs up a tree when I walk by.
I know its not a dog and bird but i must say it can be easy for small animals and big dogs to get along. I have two dogs, a German shepherd chocolate lab (German Chocolate XD) mix and a spazzy terrier dog aaaand a parakeet, the bird prefers its cage so we keep the cage door open and when hes advneturouse he goes exploring the hosue and the dogs know to stay away from him :)
@SantinoFuentes and @FerretJohn we EXCLUSIVELY feed our dog chicken (he's on the BARF diet) and he has never killed another animal even though we have birds, turtles, and a bunny outside - they're all friends :)
ok so we can bring it inside where it wont get hurt, or leave it outside where its separated from its momma possibly. which one was a better idea? why dont you like super duper animal protective people chill out.i guess all of you wouldve just left it outside instead? and way worse things than this happen in nature naturally. i think this is amazing.
We had an Alaskan Husky and rabbits, and I was amazed at how gentle big dogs can be with small animals. He never pawed at it or anything, just got down in front of it and stuck his nose in its face for the most part. It was the cats who tried to get the rabbits to play and failed.
I'm just glad this German Shepherd is not eating this baby bunny. :D Once I heard from my Bff, Matthew... that a German Shepherd "ate a baby" kitten, that belonged to it's mama, and the mama-cat belonged to my Bff''s mother.
so did he eat him? cuz im about to get a german shepherd puppy and i already have a bunny a lot bigger than that...so i wann know if its possible to have them get along w/o hurting eachother.
Yeah, it is possible for a dog and rabbit to get along. They should be fine so long as you supervise them when they're together. It's also good the rabbit is there first, because puppy will learn to respect it. Be very careful though, dogs are still predators (even gentle dogs) and sometimes they play to rough, or get carried away. Make sure you watch them whenever they're together.
@OshaBriefs yea german shepherds will be okay with rabbits as i have 3 rabbits and a german shepherd. but my dutch rabbit and mini flemish both HATE beagles. while my giant flemish doesnt mind him. And when i dog sit my aunts maltese all 3 of them hate her and seek protection with the shepherd as there scared shitless. dogs that are a bit bigger then rabbits will not get along. big big dogs will it seems like.
I think all dogs are intelligant if trained and shown lots of LOVE! <3 XD I have a doggie he might not be as smart as other dogs but i still love him. it shouldn't matter about inteligance all they need to know are the basics like sit, down, stay to behave well in human society
hahahhaha baby bunnies. i tried to save one once. it was being attacked by a fox and i pulled up in my old truck, put spot lights on it and the fox ran away. i picked up the bunny and brought it in my car where i was going to sow it up but it climbed behind my speedometer... i pulled it down and let it go... so be careful baby bunnies go where ever they want
AWW it looks just like the baby bunnies I found some years ago. I was putting weed killer and new pine straw down in the garden when they ran from the nest. Since I had inconveniently destroyed their home I couldn't put them back so I brought them home and we (me and my shepherd) nursed them.
The German shepard knows it could own it straight away, so it would rather examine it, :) G sheps are really curious i bought a turtle with a G shep, and the shep watched it for 2 hours straight :):) no biting or anything :)
I don't think the bunny thinks it's playing...more like it thinks its going to die! This is cruel to the baby bunny...I know the Shep would not hurt it, but the bunny does not know that!
@slocowgirl omg...get over it. Animals can feel each other senses so the fucking bunny would have ran away if it thought it was in danger. Do some research tool bag.
@slocowgirl WOOOOOOOOOW shut up! the bunny doesnt know alot of things, by your logic, it shouldnt even be a pet to anyone ever. youre stupid, please kill yourself!
@slocowgirl Just like a kitten wouldn't, but over time, it would learn that the other animal was not a threat. It's not cruel, it's a controlled introduction of the animals. :V
Must be a German Shepard thing. My white German Shepard from when I was a child always caught the baby bunnies running around our yard (About that size) and tried to bring them home for keeps, but we made him let them go. XD
It's not about the dog being dangerous to the rabbit, it's about the EXTREME high stress levels in Eastern Cottontails (that's the kind of rabbit in this video). Stress can KILL a wild rabbit - particularly when they are so young. This was extremely irresponsible and cruel.

hey guys iam getting a german shepard soon and i was wonderig if you could give me a couple of tips on traning them is a boy or girl easier to train or is there no differnce but iam 13 and i really want my dog to be perfcet thanks for listening
girls a generally better around younger people ive had both guy and girl g/shepherds and the boys tend to be a bit more territorial but remember like people NO DOG IS PERFECT their each individuals who just want love from their owner. ppl think the breed is dangerous but its not they're very easy to train at a young age respond well to positive re-enforcement but remember they are only a bit wary of others out of loyalty to you but dont worry too much.
girl. for sure. makes a better watchdog. it's a super easy breed to train too. very handy when it comes to housebreaking, thank goodness. your vet can teach you some simple tricks to establish yourself as dominant (a must for larger, stronger dogs).
hey guys iam getting a german shepard soon and i was wonderig if you could give me a couple of tips on traning them is a boy or girl easier to train or is there no differnce but iam 13 and i really want my dog to be perfcet thanks for listening
I know, like any dog, really. I've had 7 and they were babied and never so much as growled at anyone in anger, but heaven help the fool who'd have threatened us.
Rabbits are constantly building nests around my house and they have babies. The babies are cute, but my shepherd loves them in a different way (if you know what I mean).

girls a generally better around younger people ive had both guy and girl g/shepherds and the boys tend to be a bit more territorial but remember like people NO DOG IS PERFECT their each individuals who just want love from their owner. ppl think the breed is dangerous but its not they're very easy to train at a young age respond well to positive re-enforcement but remember they are only a bit wary of others out of loyalty to you but dont worry too much.

girl. for sure. makes a better watchdog. it's a super easy breed to train too. very handy when it comes to housebreaking, thank goodness. your vet can teach you some simple tricks to establish yourself as dominant (a must for larger, stronger dogs).

German Shepherds are only has nice or as mean as you raise them.
