Doesn't that CPU bottleneck the 5870? An i5 or Phenom x4 would be a better option.

Of course it would be a better option, but actually this is my hardware so I have to work with it :-)

Overclocking the C2D E6600 to 3.6Ghz lowered the cpu bottleneck significantly I can say, the game is pretty well playable.

I assumed you'd be able to afford something a bit better since you've already got an expensive HD 5870!

Its not like this :D

I had a second hand 4870x2 that got broken, and it was on warranty.

Because its out of production and there are no new 4870x2 they sent me a brand new Asus 5870 as replacement :-)
