It's amazing - these guys are trying to talk about specific issues, and all that idiot Blitzer wants to talk about is who's going to win between Obama and McCain.
Why is the alleged Libertarian champion of freedom and less government, Ron Paul, hanging around with a Communist leftover like Nader? This is why it is hard to take Ron Paul seriously.
@NickB1967 Because while nader and he disagree they have things in common (rejection of corporatism), desire to end the wars, and that deficit spending is bad for the country (claret for that last point is how much taxes Nadar wants vs Paul)
@NickB1967 You really don't get it, do you? It's like this... adults, we don't look at labels before we start talking to each other. You know why? Because we know that the ignorant can't be educated until we take the time to teach them in a civil manner. We've forgotten we're supposed to debate about it, but not make it personal. PC, loaded language, letting the extremists talk? It divides us. We lose vital info if we don't talk to others who are different. How else do we find common ground?
@NickB1967 Sigh. We're all a lot of things, dude. And how do you see someone's view without talking to them. If people keep making judgements about this or that, we've already failed. Nader's done some good things, like the auto safety expose. While I'm not a fan, well.. if you can't debate intelligently and with civility, then how do you change things? You can't understand a man's mind until you understand his beliefs.
@AynRandFanJG: Perry is probably the best, or least worst. I would prefer others, but do they have the clout and can they beat the Obamunist? In a world where foreign policy did not matter, I would be a diehard Paulian. But unfortunately, it *does*. Isolationism is naive.
@NickB1967 Is Perry the best because he picked up Ron Paul's talking points about the Fed last month or about militarism yesterday? Or is it because he once supported global warming theories but now opposes them? Is it because he allowed big pharma to push him to try to get all 11 yr olds injected with Gardisol? Or because he allowed the execution of an innocent man? Or maybe because he tried to sell Texas roads to corporations? Or b/c he removed hundreds of homeschool kids from their families?
@NickB1967 Ron Paul predicted the events of 9/11, the Iraq War and Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan. If foreign policy does matter, why reject the one person who has been right the entire time?
"Right"? Because appeasing those who want to kill you because you are an "infidel" works? Because bury-your-head-in-the-sand isolationism works? Because not doing jack about Osama Bin Laden works?
@NickB1967 You don't think that the US funding tyrants and killing civilians all over North Africa, SW and South Asia has anything to do with those who want to kill us? You do realize that there are over a billion Muslims in the world, right? And they don't want to kill us because we are infidels. Have you ever met a Muslim? Do you understand that not invading countries is not isolationism? Stop hiding underneath your bed.
@AynRandFanJG: Get real. "Funding tyrants" meant blocking anti-American ones. You would prefer Soviet client states? For an AynRandFan, you seem awfully blithe about the Soviet threat, something she was decidedly not. Yes, I have studied over in Egypt, and I pity the Coptic Christians who are in for a bloodbath over there. And as much as the socialist Eurotrash deserve to be overrun by the muslim savages, we can't let that happen without losing.

Elect Ron Paul and Ralph Nader in 2012 for President and let them break down the Executive branch into multiple offices like Texas has. Give the power back to the states.
This is definitely the perfect ticket.. I am praying to God that these guys run together and win... You have Nader take care of economics and Paul take care of anything else and it's perfect.
Wolf asks the most childish questions on television. "Do you feel your going to hurt his election, who is less bad, who is the best, can I have a lollipop."
Bitch ass Wolf is paid to disrupt the flow of critical thinking and ideas...Do not get wrapped up in CNN!! Paul or Nadar 2012..
i really hate it when people bring up the issue that real change is "unrealistic" and that you have to choose the lesser of two evils. i can't believe i used to say those same things too. people who think that way have no concept of a big picture and a longer time line
@wunderbeast : Chuck Baldwin put it brilliantly when he said "The Lesser of Two Evils Is The Evil Of Two Lessers". He was absolutely right, because its no longer just a case of the democrats being exactly like the republicans: its far worse than that: Its now a case of the Obama govt. being exactly like the Bush gang.
@MaxTallon HA! yeah man, you're preaching to the choir. but believe me, you drop that quote on one of my statist friends, they'll come up with some excuse to justify perpetuating the warfare / welfare state. i can't even talk to them about this stuff anymore.
@wunderbeast : Believe me, they'll pay attention when they find their asses being drafted, and their children having to pay a war tax: (a tax which has already been proposed and presented by the demorcrats). Good luck, man.
@MaxTallon you know, last night i posed the following question to one of my friends: let's say 3 people were running for office, the first two are the joker and the riddler where the majority of votes will go. the third is batman and there is almost no chance he will win this election. who will you vote for? and you know what he said? he said he'd have to gauge which choice is less evil, the joker or the riddler, since batman doesn't have a shot. lol now you know why people disappoint me
@wunderbeast : That's bad! Actually its a weird coincidence that you mentioned Batman as a simile. Because a few weeks ago I saw a clip with that creepy little bastard david rockefeller asking his illegitimite offspring Dick Cheney a staged question at some corporate do. And you know what? He reminded me of the Penguin! Not Penguin from the series, mind you - but Tim Burton's Penguin from the movie. I'm not kidding.
Problem is, Ralph and Ron actually disagree on some things. Personally, I wanna see a debate between Ralph and Ron. That would actually be a debate worth watching!
@laudrup90 Nader has accomplished what he has through non-profit organizations...not with federal funds...very consistent with RP's ideas about not depending on the gov't to keep us safe. They (gov't) just mess it up anyway with their corruption, greed, etc
@rachelgolem why do you ALWAYS end that statement with a question mark, when it requires a period? Oh,yeah, you're under thirty, and have NO education worth speaking of.
@happygamer91 They actually had four area's of agreement that's why they drew up the proposal they were talking about.
I'd gleefully vote for either one when ever they are on my ballot.
Head to head it would be the hardest vote I ever had to cast, But it would probably be Ron Paul but either way I know they bringing the troops home, closing the bases and ending attacks on civil liberties.
No one would love to see a third party candidate win more than me but it's not going to happen. We all know it. I think Ron Paul is as close to that as we're gonna get. He's got reason logic and common sense and a handle on history not seen since the days of Ben, George and Tom.
Holy fucking I've been following both of these guys for a while, they are the only people I would vote for, and to see them in the same room agreeing on different things is mindblowing
if i lived in america i would be voting for nader, though i think ron paul is a good guy, i agree with both of their social policies as its not too different, im an economic lefty though, and i think ron paul is mistaken in his faith in free market capitalism, though imho its an honest mistake, i think he does want the same ends as nader, wants to do good, unlike guys like bush.
@ImEuanAndIGotsSkeelz its not a free market, and never has been. its a controlled market for sure, i think thats why paul wants to audit the "controllers". hard to judge free market capitalism when it hasn't existed since 1913.
@johnnyappleseedism haha, i realised that a couple of days after writing that post, done a U turn on it all and now support free market capitalism, though i still respect an honest lefty because i know they do care and want the best for people, and if there was no hope of people voting for a free market i would prefer an honest lefty than a neocon, as i beleive that if we must have a controlled market, better to have it run for the benefit of the people than neocon running it for his CEO buddies
RON PAUL AND RALPH NADAR ARE THE ONLY 2 HONEST POLITICIANS LEFT. Fuck Democraps and Republicints. RON PAUL= TRUE CONSERVATIVE. RALPH NADER= TRUE LIBERAL. RALPH NADAR AND RON PAUL FOR 2012 CANDIDATES!!!!
THAT WILL BRING THE REAL CHANGE. OBAMA IS A CORPORATE SCAM!
BTW after thinking for some time, I would prefer to see Kucinich as a dissenter than a partner
I truly believe that the views I have, in their totality, are the best way to run our country...
but without competition that has the same core beliefs but raises dissent on many other points, we would have a one party dictatorship. Power corrupts. Competition keeps me in line.
Dissenting views aren't just a phenomenon of a free society, they are NECESSARY elements.
The point is our nation is in peril because of the issues I mentioned. We are in so much trouble that I can no longer disqualify candidates because they might be pro-choice or might want a few more environmental regulations.
We can't afford to bicker on those issues. Time is running out for our nation.
We of diverse views can unify on those four points. Nader and Ron Paul disagree on a lot but that doesn't stop them from unifying on those four points which are the most important issues our country has ever faced. If we care about our country enough, we diverse people will unify despite our differences on health care, guns, etc. Our nation is in trouble, BIG trouble. I am ready to call anyone who agrees with me on those four points, my political friend
What I do find very troubling is Ron Paul's ideas are very utopian and in fact are more authoritarian than he states in practice and I consider him as someone anti-liberal . In my opinion, Ralph Nader is a lot more pragmatic.
I mean in the sense that if he was in government, some may fear that he will impose actions on others that some may not favor. What do we do then? Should they be silenced if they oppose it?
The total removal of Medicare lets say as an example since it is a major issue in the U.S. I welcome some of Paul's ideas, but what fears me is that some will take advantange of patients. What do we do then?
Even if we couldn't have the coalition I wouldn't fear Ron Paul losing to Kucinich.
I have never seen a more wretched pack of unabashedly unamerican scum as I am seeing in Washington today. I am actually afraid of most of our politicians. Oh for the day when I could honestly say: "I didn't vote for him/her, but I trust him/her."
The mainstream politician today blatantly, openly and unabashedly laughs at the law of the land and its precepts. They adopted Hitler's idea of pre-emptive war. Like Hitler, they have an undefinable enemy. Jew for Hitler, Terrorist for America. They have gone absolutely batshit crazy on spending and foreign adventurism. Remember the bailouts? Lobbyists outnumbered Representatives 5 to 1 on Capitol Hill that day. That's a lot of arms up the asses of their puppet of choice.
We need men of honesty and integrity. men like Ron Paul, Ralph Nader, and Dennis Kucinich. They want to end these wars of aggression, they want to restore and protect our civil liberties, they want to reign in excessive spending and debt, and they want to reform our monetary policy.
Ron Paul Republican here. Nader? There are those that talk the walk and those that walk the talk. Nader is the latter. I respect that even though I don't agree with everything. Same with Kucinich.
Ron Paul and Ralph Nader are 2 great patriots. Ron Paul(in my Opinion) was the best candidate running in the primaries, and Ralph Nader was the best candidate in the 2008 general election.
This country needs a right wing and a left wing to fly. It's too bad the two of these men aren't the ones who represent either side. Both would make great presidents.
So, who did Ron Paul actually vote for? The Dems and Repugs are almost exactly the same. If you're a thinking American, you must vote for a third party candidate.
democrats let us down, republicans let us down, just one fucking time could we please vote independent, just once, its not like they can make shit any worse.
The fact that Republicans would rather choose horrible fascist neocons like Palin, Bush, or that mor(m)on wacko car dealer Romney than an intelligent person like Paul is proof that they've really lost their way. They've gone from GOP to DOA.
If you listen really closely, I think you can hear Barry Goldwater spinning in his grave.
I love the pragmatism in that they are discussing what they agree on and not ways to emotionally tear each other apart... all the while saying nothing.
Wolf Blitzer is a FAGGOT! Instead of asking about significant issues, that these two bring up, he asks obama/mccain in the debates bull shit issues that they both agree on-
Vote 3rd Party. If either McCain (the RepubliCON) or Obama (the DEMONcrat) are elected they would be the first president not natural born (born in a state of the union) as required by the Constitution. Look up the facts. Obama is being sued by a lifelong democrat to reveal his real birth certificate (the long form from Kenya). NObama has been trying to conceal everything about his past, which is seedy. McSame was born in the Republic of Panama.
at 4:04, ron paul says he wants everyone to vote for nader to take away votes from obama, what does this mean? why is it so important to take away votes for obama? It seems that paul understands that mccain has no chance of winning and its certain obama will be president, somehow that scares ron paul.
I wish these two guys would run together. Two honest men in charge - imagine. And I wish Wolf would shut his big fucking mouth so they could finish what they were saying.
If America truly wants change, they will vote for a 3rd party candidate. NONE, and I say again, NONE, of the 3rd party candidates support any type of bailout plan for wall street. Both McSame and Obama support the bailout. Is this idea of bailing out those behind corporate greed consistent with the needs of the American people? NO. WAKE UP AMERICA! Don't vote the status quo that has been destroying our country and economy for the last 15 years. Rome wasn't built in a day. Vote 3rd party.

@NickB1967 Because while nader and he disagree they have things in common (rejection of corporatism), desire to end the wars, and that deficit spending is bad for the country (claret for that last point is how much taxes Nadar wants vs Paul)
dudelvup 6 months ago
@NickB1967 You really don't get it, do you? It's like this... adults, we don't look at labels before we start talking to each other. You know why? Because we know that the ignorant can't be educated until we take the time to teach them in a civil manner. We've forgotten we're supposed to debate about it, but not make it personal. PC, loaded language, letting the extremists talk? It divides us. We lose vital info if we don't talk to others who are different. How else do we find common ground?
bea2thej 5 months ago
@bea2thej: Sorry, historical policy stances taken DO matter. Nader has been a Soviet and Sandinista stooge for decades. I can't just overlook that.
NickB1967 5 months ago
@NickB1967 Sigh. We're all a lot of things, dude. And how do you see someone's view without talking to them. If people keep making judgements about this or that, we've already failed. Nader's done some good things, like the auto safety expose. While I'm not a fan, well.. if you can't debate intelligently and with civility, then how do you change things? You can't understand a man's mind until you understand his beliefs.
bea2thej 5 months ago
@NickB1967 So you don't support Obama, Romney or Perry either then, right?
AynRandFanJG 5 months ago
@AynRandFanJG: Perry is probably the best, or least worst. I would prefer others, but do they have the clout and can they beat the Obamunist? In a world where foreign policy did not matter, I would be a diehard Paulian. But unfortunately, it *does*. Isolationism is naive.
NickB1967 5 months ago

AynRandFanJG 5 months ago
"Right"? Because appeasing those who want to kill you because you are an "infidel" works? Because bury-your-head-in-the-sand isolationism works? Because not doing jack about Osama Bin Laden works?
NickB1967 4 months ago
@NickB1967 You don't think that the US funding tyrants and killing civilians all over North Africa, SW and South Asia has anything to do with those who want to kill us? You do realize that there are over a billion Muslims in the world, right? And they don't want to kill us because we are infidels. Have you ever met a Muslim? Do you understand that not invading countries is not isolationism? Stop hiding underneath your bed.
AynRandFanJG 4 months ago
@AynRandFanJG: Get real. "Funding tyrants" meant blocking anti-American ones. You would prefer Soviet client states? For an AynRandFan, you seem awfully blithe about the Soviet threat, something she was decidedly not. Yes, I have studied over in Egypt, and I pity the Coptic Christians who are in for a bloodbath over there. And as much as the socialist Eurotrash deserve to be overrun by the muslim savages, we can't let that happen without losing.

@wunderbeast : Chuck Baldwin put it brilliantly when he said "The Lesser of Two Evils Is The Evil Of Two Lessers". @ImEuanAndIGotsSkeelz its not a free market, and never has been. its a controlled market for sure, i think thats why paul wants to audit the "controllers". hard to judge free market capitalism when it hasn't existed since 1913.

Yet they both share the same core beliefs all of our polticians should have but few do.
They also have real disagreements. Something we don't see today. DemoRATS and REPUGNANTcans fundamentally agree on everything.
Like I said, without a dissenting view, there is no freedom. It is key to a free society to have dissenting viewpoints.
mongoose704 1 year ago
I agree with every thing you have said
tranzam20102000 1 year ago
BTW after thinking for some time, I would prefer to see Kucinich as a dissenter than a partner
I truly believe that the views I have, in their totality, are the best way to run our country...
but without competition that has the same core beliefs but raises dissent on many other points, we would have a one party dictatorship. Power corrupts. Competition keeps me in line.
Dissenting views aren't just a phenomenon of a free society, they are NECESSARY elements.
mongoose704 1 year ago
By core beliefs, I mean the Constitution.

I am ready to call anyone who agrees with me on those four points, my political friend
mongoose704 2 years ago
What I do find very troubling is Ron Paul's ideas are very utopian and in fact are more authoritarian than he states in practice and I consider him as someone anti-liberal . In my opinion, Ralph Nader is a lot more pragmatic.
danielshacalis 1 year ago
Anti-liberal? Authoritarian?
Ron Paul is the most liberty minded poltician in Washington and it isn't even close.
mongoose704 1 year ago
I mean in the sense that if he was in government, some may fear that he will impose actions on others that some may not favor. What do we do then? Should they be silenced if they oppose it?
danielshacalis 1 year ago
Such as?
mongoose704 1 year ago
The total removal of Medicare lets say as an example since it is a major issue in the U.S. I welcome some of Paul's ideas, but what fears me is that some will take advantange of patients. What do we do then?
danielshacalis 1 year ago
Well that isn't exactly authoritarian.
Paul doesn't want to remove medicare in one swift stroke. He had made that abundantly clear.
And that doesn't show to me how he is authoritarian.
And we have far more dire issues confronting us in the here and now. Worry about it when we cross that bridge.
mongoose704 1 year ago
Fair enough.
Would you agree with a coalition gov between Paul and Kusinich/Nader?
danielshacalis 1 year ago
I'll drink to that.
One more thing:
Paul, Kucinich and Nader are honest men with integrity. I trust them to not ruin our nation.
mongoose704 1 year ago
I fully agree with a coalition with the three. To be honest, I think the ideologies of these 3 need each other.
danielshacalis 1 year ago
Even if we couldn't have the coalition I wouldn't fear Ron Paul losing to Kucinich.
I have never seen a more wretched pack of unabashedly unamerican scum as I am seeing in Washington today. I am actually afraid of most of our politicians. Oh for the day when I could honestly say: "I didn't vote for him/her, but I trust him/her."
mongoose704 1 year ago
The mainstream politician today blatantly, openly and unabashedly laughs at the law of the land and its precepts. They adopted Hitler's idea of pre-emptive war. Like Hitler, they have an undefinable enemy. Jew for Hitler, Terrorist for America. They have gone absolutely batshit crazy on spending and foreign adventurism. Remember the bailouts? Lobbyists outnumbered Representatives 5 to 1 on Capitol Hill that day. That's a lot of arms up the asses of their puppet of choice.

Vote 3rd Party. If either McCain (the RepubliCON) or Obama (the DEMONcrat) are elected they would be the first president not natural born (born in a state of the union) as required by the Constitution. NObama has been trying to conceal everything about his past, which is seedy. McSame was born in the Republic of Panama.
