@dflydwgd ...actually lifeguards used to drown quite often during saves as the victim naturally clings to whatever is near him/her (usually the lifeguard)...the tube was created not just to assist lifeguards in a rescue but to save their lives as well. Since the tube has been implemented, lifeguard drownings have been reduced dramatically. The rescue tube is for both the lifeguard and victim.

Way too many mistakes. The entry was poor, you need to keep your head above the water, when appoaching a DNS (drowning non-swimmer) you have to dive right before getting to them and come up under their arm with your arm around them.

There was also no need for a spinal board or to clear the pool. Just to mention a few.
