  • That voice sounds like Mark Daly!

  • We've got CIII on Channel 6 VHF here in Ottawa.

  • Here's my technical question: in an area like Buffalo, would a converter box scan for channels above RF 51 (such as Canadian transmitters)?

  • What do you think, guys...did they overdo the Lexicon on this one?

  • Wow. That is a very high antenna

  • I heard that Canada was not switching to digital until August 15, 2010, but the stations are putting up a fight. They want to delay it. Right now in the Toronto area, the only digital broadcasts are in HD.

  • Not for long. 2009, the year of Digital Television. VHF and UHF frequencies will no longer be used.

  • Yes...but only south of the border. Canada won't be switching analog TV off for another five or six years after the U.S. does so next February.

  • will they be switching frequency bands?

  • 88HJS, you are correct! Ch. 2 is Bancroft, ch. 27 is Peterborough.

  • Global put a transmitter somewhere in Fort Erie (Practically in Buffalo's backyard) in the mid 90's It's Channel 55 analog. Not on the air in digital yet but I think it will be channel 60.

  • I've been able to watch reliable Global signals on channels 2 and 27 in Prince Edward County.

  • I'm guessing those are the Bancroft and Peterborough transmitters, respectively?

  • I notice in that coverage map at 0:24 Prince Edward County is not getting a Global signal.
