I absolubtely love you guys! You guys are amazing!! If I can, I would like to suggest that you guys sing "Blue Moon." I think that would be just awesome! Thanks for the consideration.
I love how Calvin is cracking up after what happended to Brodie's voice! haha! That would have been my reaction! That was my reaction sitting at home and watching it on my computer! hahaha! SO funny! By the way, wonderful job. All four of you are brilliant. And just to clear things up, I'm not making fun of Brodie. Things like that have happened to me while performing so he's amazing! Great job to all of you! You're my favorite quartet! And I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!
Do you guys have a full version of "This is the Moment"? That's one of my favorite songs from Jekyll & Hyde... would love to hear you guys do the whole song. Awesome work! Good Luck in Philly!
You guys are superb. I really enjoy the glissandos, incredibly difficult and you hit them well. I also enjoy the timbre and color of your voices. Excellent.
I got to see them at my school this morning, they were so good and they were very entertaining and not to hard to look at ;) They all have really good voices and they compliment each other really well and you can tell that they are having fun doing it which is so nice to see. Most people who sing in a group look really disinterested in what they are doing which makes it not so fun to watch. They were a treat to watch and hear!
@102sweetheart Thanks for much for your kind words! Which school are you from!? Well who knows, maybe we'll be back one day if there's enough people interested in what we do!
@AndrewKesler It was my pleasure! I was at Assumption, your first stop of the day! The teacher and I were actually of thinking and inviting you all back next year but we'll see! It was so cool to see you guys are awesome
@AndrewKesler Come to Minnesota! My choir teacher would LOVE to hear and meet you guys and i'm sure a lot of the girls in my choir would definitely love to hear you. :) I love you guys! You sound Amazing!!!!!! Please Keep making videos! -one of you many fans, Foxyllama5 (The name's weird, I know, lol!)
How do you guys hold those like 8 measure notes. Danny in Cruella, Brodie in Go the Distance (the tag in the other video). Its amazing, but looks really painful
Hey Andrew, Danny, Brodie, Kevin! You're so uncredible good that I only can describe it in my broken English yesterday I heard Rendezvous for the first time and didn't stop downloading your music until I've collected enough for a nice CD-mix thanks for sharing this part of your life so from tomorrow on you'll escort me on my way to my working place greetings from Germany hope to meet you here or wherever some day!
One thing tho, the last tag called somewhere, the last two chords seem abit out of place. Personally I would cut it at about 5:38, it seems finished then...
But it's the reality of singing... i think all of us singers have had SOMETHING like that happen. It just shows that no matter how experienced and wonderful of a singer you are, things still happen! but it's ok. it's just the reality of singing.
man you guys rock! the lead's got pipes...my favorite tag is "this is the moment" its like the most epic tag ever. love the little trill you throw in there
You guys need a million dollars? America's got talent may very well be your in... you're voices rock... and you could do boy band stuff and all the girls in the US would vote for you.
Yeah, that might just be the set-up. The room we were singing in was pretty bright and "wet" sounding. Plus the microphone was a few feet away, so it soaked up a lot of room verb. Granted it's better sound than anything a digital camera picks up haha.
Ah, cool - good to know. I always thought that the tenor, lead, bass, bari setup is not really balanced, because there are only higher voices on one side and only lower ones on the other side. This is much better in the setup you use, IMHO. And now that I know that this setup is not that unconventional, I don't even have to feel rebellious when I use it :).
Thanks a lot man! It was great meeting and singing with you guys. If possible, we'd love to come back and hang with you guys more and teach you some tags.
Thanks for the tips! I could've boosted the recording volume a bit, but not much I'm afraid cause it clips when brodie sings the tag in "This is the moment", so I didn't really want to screw too much with the natural dynamics.
And yeah, we are awkward to watch haha. We have since been getting coaching from the directors of the Toronto Northern Lights chorus and have been working on this and many other things. Thanks again:)
ok u guys r awesome. i can defiantly relate to the hours of singin and the voice just not holdin up its great LOL i have a couple friends and we do trio stuff or just harmonize for sh**s and giggles and all of us have had that happen (the voice crackin)
hahaha! dude that was hilarious at the end of tonight tag!!
dude, if the ur lead keeps pushing like that when he sings, he's gonna mess up his voice really bad. it's hard not to sing like that in barbershop, but it's unhealthy for ur voice.
Haha yeah. Well normally it's not a problem, but he had been sick for a little while, and we had been singing for a few hours, so it begins to take it's toll lol.
This is absolutely amazing! seriously, no joke...watever you guys are doing keep doing it. I'm in a band and I understand how difficult it is to be in sync sometimes but obviously you guys have it down!
Sorry for the double-post, but "Durrr" to that question. Of course it's Dan doing the falsetto. I just remembered the Fantasy Quartet video of that song!
Haha yeah, Dan is our tenor and sings a mix of falsetto and chest. Our lead sings this song all in chest. Yeah that voice crack/death was hilarious haha. Brodie is probably one of the most consistent singers i have ever met, and to have his voice meltdown like that was priceless! glad you enjoyed it!
You blokes sound heaps better than you did! Was the Lead singing all the falsetto in "Tonight, tonight"? Respect to him for agreeing to put this on Youtube! That's a massive voice crack - I nearly wet myself!!
This is just my friend Danny's $70 Apex 435. This was a spur of the moment thing and I was too lazy to grab my Neumann. I'm assuming A/D means analog to digital. I thought Brodie's mess up was funny. But I can understand. I don't know if I could find it anywhere, but I have seen Danny's, does your group have a version of go the distance, a full version? I am very interested.
In "tonight, tonight", is that top Ab in the tag held in Full voice, or like a falsetto?? because i tell ya, if thats a falsetto, thats a bloody powerfull and rich sound your getting there.
If you mean the post of tonight tonight (which didn't last too long haha), by our lead brodie, he does it in his chest voice. Sometimes we do the song in G or G#, either way he slides up to that note after the post throw.
Just a few suggestions that popped up. When you guys are singing interact with eachother...i know you guys are rehearsing and all...but i noticed in your other videos the same thing. Just look at eachother somtimes not into space the whole time.

Very skilled singing. I love listening to you guys. Here's a suggestion....perhaps more interaction between you...eye contact. I really like the body movements of the singer on the far right. It's balanced...a little head, a little hips, arms and knees moving to the rhythym. I think that enhances the experience for the audience. Being really stiff is a distraction. Thanks guys! Keep recording and posting here. I love it!
Oh it's real lol. There's no way I could've augmented it with pitch correction without altering the sound of everything else lol. Also notice the looks we give him once it starts. We're as surprised as everyone else!

Nice job, guys. Two suggestions:
- I know it's only Youtube, but if you could somehow adjust the recorded volume up, it would help.
- You don't look quite comfortable with your hands - some training on that would give you a more professional look.
All in all, fun music sung well. And to the gentleman on the left, great hold from 1:09 to 1:21!

MikeyTSH 3 years ago
This is just my friend Danny's $70 Apex 435. This was a spur of the moment thing and I was too lazy to grab my Neumann. I'm assuming A/D means analog to digital. For my other multitracks I use a Presonus Firepod (a sweet firewire device, highly recommended). In this video Danny is using my old M-Audio MobilePre USB.
