How come no one is paying attention to what Jamie's saying? How could you miss him specifying that he would be checking out why even the poor people in Italy were eating better and healthier food than the majority of England? Hence why he's in the dodgy district... Pay attention before you go ranting.
I am not italian, even if my grandparents are from toscana, but I'm sorry for you, because if you are an italian shamed for a part of italy you denied than you're very poor. I think that the great minds like Brunelleschi in florence or Antonello da Messina in sicily rapresent perfect all the lovely places in a great Country like the most beautiful in the world: Italy. i think that italy is made also about noisy people like in sicily, rome, agrigento, florence, noto or bologna. I've done a tour in Italy and I visit Florence one of the most beautiful cities in the world , but also Noto was it. Ok Palermo is noisy but only at the "Ucceria" (open space market) like the Bocceria in Barcelona, the name comes from the catalan invaders.
Because people from all over the world think that italian people Are just like this video shows ( noisy and quite barbarous...). Italy is Made of great minds, great cities like Milan, rome, florence...
Surely the worst side of an incredible city. As one of the many persons representative of the "other side" I'm feeling profoundly ashamed and a bit angry for the wicked choice of such an unworthy location. Awful.
