It isw so funny, that the very first thing I thought of this morning was this song. I remember it in the summer of 1973 driving from Nova Scotia to Vancouver along the TC Highway. What oersonal, unimaginable days they were. My favorite song of that summer. Even beat out Queens' "Bohemian Rapsody" That was powerful back then.
Woking at Lowry AFB BX in 1973, I remember an unsold Sailcat item, Motorcycle Mama in reel-to-reel format. First and last time I saw pop song sold that way.
1972 huh?? Wow..That was..Like..Wow. Vickie Dowding was my first Crush and one Sunday she went to Church stoned and walked up the aisle singin' this song!! OMIGOD 1972?? I was learnin' so much then. Thanx Vickie!!
This song makes me think of my Mom. We'd be driving home from the dairy and this song played on the radio. When they sang "we'll see the world from my Harley," my Mom would say "How romantic."
Not only was it technically difficult for a band to play live on tv, the shows did not wanna have a band set up all their equipment and waste time on sound checks and such. Not to mention, the companies behind the bands did not want them to play a live version because they wanted people to buy the single they heard on the radio and tv, or as the companies called it, the product in which they were promoting with the tv appearance in the first place.
Wow! What an incredible video I just found! I haven't heard this song in years! You know, my next door neighbor used to have this particular record only I have heard it again since!! What a treat to hear this groovy song again! Thank you my friend! :)
Weren't there two sets of lyrics? "You're eighteen, you canbe my wife"; and later
"She'll play the drums, I'll play guitar, and we'll form a trio, Baby make three-oh!"
That's the way we sang it at college.

Court Pickett had a solo LP in 1973 "Fancy Dancer". His track "The Homecoming" needs some You Tubing etc.

Not a bad song but a total rip off of T-REX style-vocals and music.

Yeah, they lip synced, damn it! Ashlee Simpson would be SO pissed! Phonies! I freakin' love this little ditty, sync or not.

lip syncing back then because recording a band with TV equipment didn't work very well.

why did every show insist on the bands lip syncing back then, gee it sounds just like the record, would this be luke pryor approved?
