  • This just made me late for work... ah, never-mind...

  • At 3:57 pure genius begins. I've seen this set a million times and I'm blown away each time.

  • @traceless1 yep, i remember seeing him doing this at the time and being totally blown away. pure creativity. i think it flew over the heads of most people.

  • First DJ ive ever seen that moves his mixer around during battles.... but what an awesome set

  • best moment ever at 4.00 !!!!

    just amazing !!!!!

dexta : the best DMC original tracks on set at the end of the 90th.

  • @esassin dexta made this song with 'the avalanches' called 'frontier psychaiatrist', and used it as the start of the set.

  • @esassin from who himself??

  • ok i got it. it's prince-get off :)

  • what's the name of the track at 1:53

  • Still have the VHS. In my opinion, the best of his DMC sets.

  • @rogergu80 i got this on VHS tooooo. P trixx and craze's set were insane!!!!. Not to mention tony vegas!!! Every set on this year was solid, but craze's was insane!!!! The newer DMC's some of the sets get pretty boring!!!

  • @djwu1823 There horrible they use serato now! the art form is gone!

  • I've never came to appreciate this routine (even though I've always had it on tape) until tonight. It's elegant and sophisticated and CRAZY~~~

  • Is the tune at 4.05 an avalanches song???

  • @felixdadeathcat YES IT IS ! caus he was the dj of this band :)

  • "Your're a nut, You're a nut... That boy needs therapy." :)

  • what a set, its so creative...

can some one please tell me the name of the sample / record wich comes in 3:58 : "who is it gonna to be i hope it is me"

    thx

    i

  • I feel bad for Dexta on this performance. I saw him qualify in Melbourne to compete and the set was flawless! One of the most creative sets ever. I think he just got a little rattled.

  • @crabolsky Was that set at the Lounge?

    I can't remember.....Metro?

  • Ha, I didn't even see your post. But yes it was at the Metro. He he really did nail it that night. Especially up against guys like Dj Wayne. I hope he continues to make music with the Avalances.

  • Saw him do this routine at some club (the lounge?) leading up to the finals and he fucking nailed it. Still get massive goosebumps from the 'I hope it's me' bit as I was on some great ecstasy. Met him a few months later and he was/is an amazingly humble guy.

  • any way I colud dowload this video and others of this dude?.......please!!??

  • 4:10 insane blend :)))) hell thats perfect :)

  • Ok, its a great routine but the Prince switchover was a lil too advanced for normal listeners, that shyt is madd hard to do and make it come out normal speed, note that after the beatjuggle he fused another record with that, i personally think he shoulda left out that routine around 3:15 and automatically went on to what he eventually did around 3:55, the beggining is also hellah fresh,

  • Dexta took me to his musical world.

  • Dexta 's not a competing dj, he's a *musician* in the dmc.

  • 3:58 - 5:06 that's beautiful

  • Agree, Dexta is dope man

  • aha!

  • Those days the mixers had rarely any hamster switches. That technics mixer didn't have it and you had to use it on those battles. He scratches hamster but juggles with normal crossfading. That's why it is turned in the beginning.

  • wtf does he got the mixer upside down ? hes trying to be original ?

  • the "i hope i hop i hope its me" is irving berlin - who do you love

  • the last track is by frank sinatra, called new york new york

  • Probably the most creative set of that championchips!! I can't work out how DJ Craze won it??? Others where better!!

  • Naw, that was Craze's year. You have to watch it again, it's flawless. From the intro calling out everyone that year who took Craze's juggle patterns from 98 in their routines to the end, Craze had multiple genres, actually mixed the tracks, and had the perfect harmony of technical ability, flashiness, and sound.

  • I believe Dexta would've placed if it weren't for all the skips during the Prince juggle. He made up for it in 2000 though but I've always liked the Frontier Psychiatrist routine the best.

  • Craze's routine was rare and one of a kind for 1999.

    musicality, technicality, and fresh.

  • lol he stormed off in a hurry!

not his best set, i prefer his 98 and 2000 better

  • MAN OH MAN

I remember seeing this in live NYC

I know good djaying. this was dope, creative and on point minus a few mistakes.

Dexta may look at this and hate it but trust me!!! It was nice as hell!

who is it going to be? I hope i hope i hope it's me...

  • You Can Find the First Song In Single " The Avalanches - Frontier Psychiatrist " But i'm Still Search for The END " Who IS Going o Be, I Hope, I Hope It's ME " !! ThanKs For THE ONE Here!! Especially ;)

  • fucking dope!

  • that loop section is real dope
