  • the only Thule song that I like. They're god-awful otherwise :p

  • Klingt sehr gut...!!

  • Bästa låten med UT.

  • Ask and Embla is the same like Adam and Eve. The kin of them is all mankind.

they live in midland between the gods in asagård and the deathkingdom below.

  • Its abaot Oden the cheif god in norse mythology and father of thor. He sometimes walk around common people to see whats up. and now he dont likes what he see, he thinks bad times are coming, he stuck out his eye to offer the well of wisdom. Ensamt Öga=Lonely Eye

  • They sing ''fasa väntar ÄTT av ask och embla''

Meaning ''terror await kin of ask and embla''

Meaning the children of ask and embla, the aesir AKA the people in the northern countries.

  • and yes this song is obviously about Odin.

  • Ätt av Ask och Embla, meaning ask and emblas family more or less.

  • I love this song so much! This and "Mitt Land" are my favourites from Ultima Thula. But can somebody tell me what are they singing about in Ensamt Öga? I can`t translate it. ;-)

  • I would say it's about Ragnarök like Hellfire says, they sing of a dead kingdom and a lonely eye(Odin) shed a tear for the kingdom.

  • Sorry for my short explanation but the giant Surt, which was the Master of fire splitted the ash Yggdrasil in two and had the world embraced by fire, it was also embraced by water and stars were falling down on the earth and a lot of natural disaster happend that day.

But Ask and Embla looked for cover in a cave and survived Ragnarök. So yeah the song describes the kingdom after the war.

(Also all the Asirs died except for the female Asirs in Ragnarök.)

  • @HellfireCruento not all the aesir died in ragnarok. baldur and hödur are revived in the beginning of the last battle and survive it, and some of the older myths speak of the allfather (not odin) surviving as well.

  • @Misirlou4 Ensamt øga means the northern star:)And they also sing about the 2 first people on this earth.Ask and Embla.

  • @MrKenber @MrKenber Thanks a lot! Now I know a little bit more about this song. :)

The song has special and dark atmosphere, and the pictures in the video fit perfectly together with the song! Thanks to all of you who explained it to me!

  • Hey, these guys are pretty good.

  • Yeah. They mostly make their songs in Swedish but they've also made some in English or make a translated version of the Swedish song, like Fädernaslandet, the English version is My Fatherland.

  • i think they did a full album in german aswell :P
