i have a 1978 el camino and i have the stock air cleaner and i would like to put a new chrome cleaner on it but i am wondering what do i do with the vacumm hoses that are connected to the stock cleaner ????
@brandon1997bmx Not seeing your setup I can't say for sure but one line should be for the air inlet controller which you can do away with. The others are probably emission related so you'll have to check your local laws and inspection rules but if you can get rid of them then follow the lines and block them off or tap into another vacuum line with a tee. Just don't leave any of the them open causing a vacuum leak.
@carissawabo ok thanks .it has a bigger hose going into the cleaner and a smaller hose connected where the air gets sucked in , and i have another question if i replace the valve covers what do i do with the pcv valve ??
@brandon1997bmx Most chrome valve covers will come with grommets and one is smaller for the pcv valve which you definetly want to keep. The other you can use a chrome oil breather in place of the metal pipe that you should have now going to the stock air cleaner where the rectangular filter is located
Thanks for providing part name and numbers you showed in the video. It does help out a lot! I have a '73/350 and JUST started. I'll be looking forward to referencing your videos as a solid source.
Beautiful car!! I have a 76 that I am building for my wife...with a 454...and your car is a fine example of a very NICE build!! Very clean, and well executed!! You should be very proud of that car...as I would be!
I'd just like to thank you for posting all these great videos documenting the progress on your '76. I have a '76 that is also an L-48 and I had been planning on doing many of the modifications you have done already as well. Thanks to you and your videos, I am a bit more confident in the purchases I am going to make. I'm doing a slightly different approach, but you have definitely given me a good sense of direction. Thanks a bunch.

Thank you very much, it's been alot of work but worth every penny, a 454 sounds great for your 76, hope you post a video when it's done.
