  • I've always liked the Paramount Marx Bros movies more than the MGM ones later. Except for Night at the Opera which was really funny.

  • That's great.

  • Funny. I was watching this scene the other day and thought to myself how nice it would be to watch it again. It was on TCM today, taped it and watched it tonight. Ended right at midnight.

great way to end the year

  • Horse Feathers is my favourite Marx Bros picture.

  • How appropriate that now, decades later, attempting to acquire information such as a password is called phishing.

  • Groucho: "Hello. How are you?"

Chico: "I'm-a fine. I wanna come in."

    Groucho: "What's the password?"

    Chico: "It's-a sword-a fish."

LOL That line never gets old! :D

  • Nice, is that where the movie title, Swordfish, came from? Nice brute force, social engineering, hacking, etc.

  • Absolute Classic routine :-)

  • "What's the matter, you can't speak english? You can't come in here unless you say swordfish"

  • This is what I always thought of when I thought of prohibition. So much so, that I was expecting this scene in Ken Burns' recent PBS docu PROHIBITION!

  • Whasa thah passwoid

  • Classic silliness! Wow, I haven't seen that in ages! I've always loved Chico! His exchanges with Groucho are hilarious! Thanks for sharing that! That took me back!

  • My favorite line: "Who are you?" "I'm fine, thanks, who are you?"

    Genius.

Anyway, great video and great humor. Nice job!

  • gotta love chico's fake italian gibberish lol

  • @jamesrclarke703 It's not gibberish. Chico said he was gonna break the guys face.

  • This is genius.

  • 0 dislikes; likea boss

  • I make skits that are chock-full of puns and one-liners, please take a look and let me know what you think! I'm a huge fan of The Marx Brothers and want to reach out to an audience who likes that sense of humor

  • Ah, Groucho Marx. Arguably one of the funniest men who ever lived, along with his brothers. Todays comedians pale in comparison to these guys.

  • genius

  • This is comedy at its very best, Im a fan of the comedy nowadays but none of them hold a candle to this!

  • I heard a reference to this in a kids cartoon and I forgot how funny this is

  • I can't believe it's still so funny aftter all these years I'm still laughing XD

"You can"t come in here unless you say swordfish."

  • groucho just bugs bunny it or does bugs bunny groucho marks it??????

  • @LittleKurib0hChan - Groucho is a bit older than Bugs.

  • I wish you'd left in the bit where Harpo jams a sword into a fish.

  • @DataTasha4Ever That's actually a different scene, about a minute later in the film...

  • Way ahead of its time : Brilliant

  • @7beers You know what? Buzzkills like you don't deserve rational responses.

  • their talent was wonderful but dont forget , they worked hard from an early age to get where they did. nothing comes easy, unless your an irish banker ,then you get 3,000.000 e for one years work !!!!. no joking ,he was really paid that amount .

  • u cut out the best part.. when harpo comes in like a boss with an actual sword fish.

  • who are you?

I'm fine thanks, who are you? LOL!

  • HAPPY 124TH BIRTHDAY CHICO MARX!!!

  • @gemskii42 He's dead. How happy can he be?

  • CLASSIC!

THIS is what movies used to be...back in the good ol days...

  • Another great routine by Groucho and Chico is "Tutsi Fruitsi Ice Cream"

from the film "A Day At The Races" - also Sanity Clause is another good one.

  • @TimovieMan,

Where did you buy the Marx Brothers Collection Box Set? I want to buy 1 for X-mas!

  • @sparkly21 Play.com

  • @sparkly21 Barnes 'n' Noble

  • @sparkly21 ooooh! Good idea!

  • Where'd you get such a rippin' clear picture? Great contrast level and everything.

  • @LouisLambert I have this on DVD - straight out of the Marx Brothers Collection Box Set by Universal. The quality of it is excellent.

  • clever as ever

  • O.o

  • "I forgot it, I better come out with you too" I LOVE THIS.

  • What do you take for a haddock?

     Priceless!

  • @HunterMann One time I went to cracker barrell, and the fish of they day was haddock, and I could not help but think of this movie.

  • @thomaschavers What do you take for a haddock?

  • The password is "password". Haha!

  • HILARIOUS!

I love the Marx Bros. Seen all their movies(except for that one with Vincent Price...)

  • @PoisonRainVornado If you're thinking of The Story of Mankind, technically that was not a Marx Bros movie, even though they all three appeared in it. The reason it's not usually considered a MB movie is because they appeared separately in it, in three different vignettes.

  • @PoisonRainVornado which one is that? i dont think i've ever heard of that one

  • @311rockr It's THE STORY OF MANKIND, which features an all star cast(although most are sadly wasted) including Price, Peter Lorre, John Carradine, Cedric Hardwicke, Ronald Colman, Hedy Lamarr, & Francis X. Bushman among many others. The film isn't as bad as most people would lead you to believe, it just isn't a masterpiece.
