Just incase anybody is interrested, the text at the engine picture, basicly describes that it was very complicated, with a 2 stage centrifugal compressor ( seen at the front of the engine, down to the left ) that drive went from the crankshaft-"middle", thrue a thin shaft, to a "cog-transmission" that then geared it up to x3.25 of the engines RPM's. (later on x4)

And sorry for the english. I only know car-parts in Danish so, i just translated it like we write it. Like "cog-transmission" :)

I believe that the problem lies with the magneto's and that running such high boost there is no one left from those times who can actually time the engine correctly.Lots of trial and error but awsome!

I used to have this on a CD in my van and play it a full volume in traffic jams......fantastic reaction from drivers spilling coffee and dropping fags and powder cases!

@shudyka Hi. The sound recording is from the CD by Nick Mason, that was part of the book "Into The Red". And in that book, he tells that it is a V16 BRM Mk 2 from 1953 (not 1951 as I wrote in the description).
