I appreciate you posting this song of hers. I printed it out and taped it to my bathroom wall by the bath tub and I sing it in the bath tub. It's a lovely song. She brings to life many of the songs she sings. You look on u tube and she does all of the the best.

I discovered Deanna Durbin recently in a seniors course I took titled "Hollywood Sopranos'. I had just barely remembered her as a youngster and I just fell in love with her all over again - and still am. God bless Deanna Durbin as she approaches her 89th birthday. The Canadian - Hollywood songbird who retired much too soon.

Thank you soooo much! I am 80 and my sister is 85. We always wanted to "be" Deanna. I have put together a DVD for her as she doesn't have, or know anything about, computers but she can work her DVD player. She is ecstatic.

Thank You, so much. I am 78 years old now and as a little girl I used to watch all her movies. I also recognize Robert Stack in this film clip. Too bad she gave up the movies. Ann Blythe was also one of my favorites. I now watch Turner Classics and they play some of these old movies at times.

I played this song on the back porch on a warm spring day. The woods are right behind it, so there are dozens of large trees not far away. One of the lines of the song is I'll sing to the birds as they sing to me. I called to my wife to listen. As Deanna sang the trees came alive with birds joining in. It was so beautiful, like Snow White communing with the animals of the forest.

This is great! I can just see Deanna Durbin as Rosalinda in "Die Fledermaus" - singing, dancing, acting her way across stage - interacting with the chorus in that second act. I sang chorus in two productions of that show and danced in one of them. In the other one, only a few couples danced and the rest of us just swayed back and forth. Boo! But it was fun. Bravo, Deanna Durbin!

She is so wonderful. Kiri Te Kanawa was trained to copy the nice pure style and emulate Deanna's singing style. Kiri is one of the best sopranos around now. Also Renee Fleming used Kiri as a role model. She said so herself. Imagine, if there was no Deanna, this beautiful singing style would never have existed.

There never were German words. This is an original song, from the movie, written specifically for Durbin. Ralph Freed took themes from some Strauss walzes, tied them together, then added English words to them.
