  • i dont care to comment on the video content. the commentary displayed here is very disheartening though. Sanchin, the three battles of mind, body and spirit. Sanchin, the three seasons. Sanchin, the unification of mind , body and spirit. It seems to me some have lost this battle and cannot come to terms with it. Look at your beginning and look to your end, they are the same place.

  • @harryheywood Not the best form that i have seen, but it is wrong to insult someone in that level. You should be ashamed.

  • @cheedraco Apologies, that comment was not me. I do not even recall watching this video.

  • I suspect a link to the Sanchin kata. Interesting...

  • isnt the front foot suppose to be at a 60 degree angle?... i study the same style....

  • @treeskaterable it is not so important ( correct me if wrong mr Llavor ). Where do you train the same style? regards, Martin

  • @martinpaulwatts Oops i am only now reading your reply... sorry... yes it is very important that angle strengthens your structure i would be able to throw you off balence or break your leg by leaning forward with my front leg... it would be better if i could show you as you need to experience it.... i learn this style in Singapore

  • @treeskaterable I look forwards to visiting when I am next in singapore and we can play "trapping legs" . Are you training with Paul Chew? perhaps you could post your performance of a form? Best Wishes, martin

  • Hi do you have a contact for Rising Dragon? I am trying to get in touch with them about studying there but not having much luck. If you could pm me an email or contact that would be great. Thanks

  • All Fujian Gung Fu, regardless of styles or systems, all have a foundation form (Kata) call Sanchin, three battles. And one school's Sanchin may be different than the other school's Sanchin. It is similar to Bak Mei's(White-eyebrow) Jik Bho, Long Ying's(Southern Dragon) Sub Luk Dong, and Southern Mantis' Sam Bho Jin.In the beginning, due to each system's emphasis and philosophy, they look different, or sometimes even contradict, from each other, once the essence is reached,no difference

  • @OakIslandBandit This is also what my teacher told me - Sanchin is used in a variety of different styles and martial arts. Karate at it's highest level studies the three wars/battles whilst in White Crane it is their first pattern

  • @fooqotsa 燕子唾液浮游物淹沒-(Tun,To,Fou and Chum)-Swallow, Spit, Float, Sink is what you train as the foundation in this form.Yes,it's highest in Karate, some schools in Bak Mei train the "external" forms from Sek Sifu,Lee Sifu and Lam Yiu Gwai Sifu(Dragon) to get the body ready for internal Bak Mei Jek-Bo,some train it from start,by the time I got to Jek-Bo my body was already used to TTFC,Jek-Bo "fixed" in into my whole. At 1st looks simple, but very complex, many versions done wrong on YT,many right

  • @fooqotsa - Actually, Karate styles that teach Sanchin teach it at the beginning too. This was changed in Okinawa because the concept of Sanchin was said to be difficult for kids to grasp. I teach Goju Ryu and I study Yong Chun White Crane Boxing. I start all students with Sanchin and incorporate the Gekisai kata along with it. But Sanchin was always at the beginning. In the west this practiced is marred by the western mindset which limits everything.

  • @OakIslandBandit you mean all Fujian and Hakka styles. :)

  • @Koryuhoka Yes,Fuijan,after the Hakka people brought it, ;-)

  • I like it!!!

  • looks like Sanchin kata from many types of Karate. No surprise there though, seeing as Goju ryu and other styles took many forms and techniques from fujian and other southern chinese styles. cool.

  • looks nothing like ant sanzhan i know.

  • @jiggahippo Well outside the Fujian province there are a lot of variations of this.

  • Hi - where did you learn that in China?

    Regards,

    Martin

  • Hi mate, I learned this and recorded this in Fujian province, at a martial art school called Taining Rising Dragon Martial Arts School. if you want any more info about feel free to ask me, or just google it, the website contains all the info.

  • @MrIavor Hi, I was looking at doing kung fu training in china - I take it you would recommend this school? Is it very similar to the description - and worth the money? (You can probably tell that its not a decision I intend to take lightly!)

  • @MrIavor The school is awesome, I just left it a few weeks ago.

  • @MrIavor This is ridiculous. I think Mr. Watts also laughs

  • @Relictum777 This is a good starting place. I am sure after the two years it is different now. I hope you will share with us your performance. Best Wishes, Martin

  • @martinpaulwatts With joy. But, knowing your attitude towards me, very much doubt.

  • @Relictum777 I look forwards to it. It will give your criticisms of other peoples performances more context.

  • @martinpaulwatts The fact is, Mr. Watts, I do not criticize other people, as do your Russian friends, I'm just expressing my opinion. You deny me the right to express their opinion?

  • @martinpaulwatts Perhaps you have seen video of a seminar in Odessa, Andrew Ogneva or video user brazol27 he named "Bayhe: Philosophical History (sound: Paul Mauriat)". In russian "Байхэ : философская история (sound : Paul Mauriat)". It will entertain you.

  • @Relictum777 Thanks for the information. That is my teacher master Pan teaching the form chan xin zhong when he was visiting Russia. I am hoping to meet the Russians this June when master pan visits here in Spain.

  • @martinpaulwatts I have long know who your teacher. But anyway, thanks for reminding me. Let me remind you that your Russian friends do not need bayhe style, they need to authoritarian domination, sorry that you are not readers of Russian and can not appreciate the flight of their arrogance. Best wishes, Relictum.
