@MarioSegaFreak No, you can't. When you press D-Pad down on an official controller D-Pad up goes up. Unless you mod, you CANNOT press up and down at the same time, or left and right at the same time. The controller was built that way.

@RaKiNlol no i didnt, the little peg that keeps the pad from going all the way down got worn down and it isnt necessary to take the controller apart.

if you dont have another option you can always buy a tri-wing screwdriver from any chinese store (like dealextreme), for $1 or less,a nd free shipping

have the disk inside the wii and do the recovery thing, if the system version on the disk is newer than the one installed it should update and when it finishes the wii should boot up normally, no it doesnt erase any saves or channels, just updates system files

if nothing shows up on the screen while doing what the video shows (really doing that, normally you cant press all the directions), i think it is screwed, if the probllem started after doing an official upgrade, then contact nintendo, they know theyre code is really crappy

i do believe that mario kart has the 3.4 update ( i remember having to upgrade to play it), but any new game should work as an update disk.

just replace the sd card boot dol on the root folder by the wad manager boot dol and when you start twilight run it as if you were installing homebrew channel, so it will run wad manager, then uninstall the wad or thing that currupts your wii

Nothing. When i boot up normal after pressing A the screen stays black and even with the GC controller it stays black. I always waited for 10-15 minutes and got nothing but a black screen. I bricked it trying to install neogamma R5. If it's not fully bricked then maybe i got the chance to fix it with the savemii dongle.

this method and the savemii dongle are the exact same thing, the only way i see that you could fix it is with one of those nintendo rastore discs, or the hackmii one using a drivechip

You HAVE to press the 4 directions,

you cant do it on nintendo brand controllers (I have mine back from 2004, so the thing that prevents you from doing that is a little like sanded down with the use), you can dis-assemple the controller or use one of those non-branded GC compatible controllers (Theyre cheaper & work sometimes better than the real deal)

its a kind of hardware bypass (like pandora battery on the psp), but it cant recover from full bricks

you just plug the controller in the 4th gamecube controller port (the one labeled "...."), & press all the D-pad buttons while turning the console on, it will display the system version & if the console has an autoboot disk on the drive(service mode disk, a modified game that autoboots), it will run it. if it cant run it it will display the system version until you turn the wii off.

after years of using the same controller, the little peg that prevents you from pressing Up + Down or Left + Right got a little shorter..

its a pain to press fast combinations or to make those "u" shaped inputs for fighting games u_u

but yeah, you would have to open the controller normally, or buy a de-branded GC controller (theyre really cheap, like 5 dlls) & those things usually dont have the peg, or are closed with regular (not tri-wing) screws
