  • Thank you

  • After you have completed the hdc round and joined with a slip stitch to the ch 2, do you make the last 2 loops of the star stitch in the ch 2 and the next stitch or in the first and second hdc after the ch 2? When I do the latter, as it seems you're doing in the video, I end up having to draw the last loop up through the base of the turning chain because I've run out of hds's.

  • @rich2810 Finally are there still 15 star stitches in the star stitch rows, and how many hdc's in the hdc rows. If anyone can answer these questions, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

  • If you have 28 single crochets on the base of the bag (14 on each size of the chain as you said in the video), how do you end up with 15 star stitches on the next row? Don't you need 2 single crochets to complete one star stitch. That would create 14 star stitches, not 15. Where did the extra stitch come from?? Great bag, btw. Thanks for sharing the instructions.

  • @rich2810 Oh, I'm just seeing the link for the written instructions. I'll try those. Thanks!

  • How do u start ?

  • @hellokittylvrc What a chain 15

  • I am a beginner... can you explain "on the opposite side sc in ea ch.join at the beginning. (14 SC). There will be a total of 28 single crochet when finished." I watched the video but I still don't get it :(

  • is the star stich is too difficult for me could i use a single stich all the way around the pouch?

  • @lovelove56781 You can use the single crochet if you prefer.

  • Hi! If I want to modify the size, what s the formula I need to follow for the number of chains to strat it?

  • tHANK YOU!! BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • i love crochet

  • thank you so much for how to.

  • I dont see thr response video for the little flap cover thing could you send me the link please

  • You're Amazing! I've learned so much from you!

  • @CRYSMILL I have a lot more ideas planned. Thank you!

  • I got lost after half double crochet :(

  • I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but my pouch always seems to get wider on one side and stay straight on the other...am I supposed to be slip stitching every time I get all the way around?

  • hey i was wondering how do i go about doing the other row for the half star? i noticed you only showed how to do one side. i dont really understand the instructions written in your blog pls help i really luv your pouch! THX

  • Fantastic managed to folow at the beginning but when you reached the half double crochet, its was all super fast, T__T do you have a slower version of this? THANKS FOR THE UPLOAD

  • does this work for the Droid X?

  • @VivaLaLyssa96 You can modify the size for any electronic device.

  • how to you do a star stich

  • I have a question!! How would I make this hot pink (got that down just use hot pink yarn) with BLACK Zebra Stripes?? I have never used more than one color so I don't know how I would do it... Thanks!

  • You make crocheting look easy

  • i think you keep some step from 4:15,i followed you to 4:15 and get loss from there because u were finishing the first star stich row,and when u skip to 4:21 i saw that u have another star stich row on the other side, please explain for me,thanks

  • question, When you are done with the SC on both sides and you CH 3 to start the Star St, mine seems to be showing on the inside of the pouch instead of the outside. Not sure how to explain it. because it naturally curves and it just seems to be doing it the wrong way. Any suggestions? Not sure what I am doing wrong :(

  • @Lynnphotos84 Just try flipping the bottom of the pouch so your design will be on the outside instead of the inside.

  • This is really cute

  • Hi Tresa <3

I really like ur videos a lot ,its very helpful ..

u r my best crochet teacher ever ..ThanQ so much ..

  • thank u teresa for ur reply, will try it. but im kinda afraid to do so, as i am a beginner.

  • hai teresa, can this be made into a laptop case as well?

  • @dinioxiema It can easily be made in to a laptop case. All you do is start with a longer chain to the size of your laptop.

  • hi teresa, is the size G hook a 4.00mm hook?

  • Hii, what kind of yarn are u using? cotton or wool

  • @6120rocks The yarn is acrylic yarn.

  • Hi Teresa, I wanna make this for my younger brother and this looks more like for girls so if there's a pattern that would go well for boys, please tell me,thanks!

  • @Bufurzone You could work this with single crochet instead, which would be a more masculine stitch.

  • @tjw1963 Thanks a lot.. :)

  • Hi Teresa, I love your videos. My first crochet project was kingsten cap. I have one question regarding this project mobile pouch. I got a total of 7 half stars(1st row) on one side. How come you got 15? You did on the next side aswell? Please reply.

  • @druidessincarnate I got 15 because I went ahead and worked an extra stitch in to the pattern. I felt that there would be to big of a hole at the beginning so I worked an extra stitch. You can do 14 if you want to.

  • Very cute:)

  • @Oktoberopal Thank you.

  • It helps to watch other crochet stitch tutorials before watching one that makes a big project, so you know what stitch that is and how to do it. Our class project is crochet and I thought of making this. Thx

  • WAY!... TOO!.. FAST!!!!!!!! : (

  • im a beginner. can u do slow-motion so i can see better

I love your videos , i finished one of your flowers

  • @TheSelco The recent videos have more slow motion and extended video time. Slow motion is something that I do use a lot.

  • you are my favorite teacher crochet, tanks, teresa

  • @ladygris65 Thank you. :)

  • hey thanx for sharing this vid.but i have a question that shud i start with 15 stiches'??wil it b enough length for my sonyericsson aino??or what shud i change the lenght.shud i mesúre tha lenght with my cellfone and then carry on??thanx alot for the vid again

  • @community1ful When you make the chain, you will be able to tell if the phone will fit. If the chain looks to short, add more chains. I'm sorry, I do not know all the measurements for the phones.

  • You are the best crochet teacher :D

  • @manolotan Thank you, I appreciate the comment.

  • Thank you Teresa, this video really helped me out in making a pouch. The motif is also lovely. I'm wondering, since I'm still beginner in crochetting, whether you can release a video with the same star stitch on two different colours yarn. I've made one colour of this pouch and am trying to make it with 2 colours take turn (e.g.: blue, white, blue, white). But I find difficulty in changing the yarn. Would you please teach/show me how to do it??

    Thank you in advance.

  • @sKt4uRy I do have this tutorial with two colors. I will send you the link.

  • You can use the same pattern for the

laptop. All you have to do is make a

chain of 48 instead of 15 for the size

laptop I have. Or if you have one of

those real little laptops known as

notebooks you can double the length

of your chain when you start and it

will fit the little compact laptop.

    methodistgirl

  • I tried it and it's too big for my cell phone.

Mine is so small I had to make the

pattern smaller. Now I need one for

    my laptop.

    methodistgirl

  • Cell phones have gotten much smaller since I made this tutorial. All you can do is adjust the size.

  • i tried this, and i maybe didnt follow so much of the pattern and it turned out a small CHIHUAHUA shoes...im going to try again,so it willl be pair.next is real pouch lol...^x^ thanks

  • I like the look of this stitch! I'm goingto give it a try!

  • im in north york toronto and i cant sem to find worsted weight yarn anywhere :(

  • 4 ply will work the same. It does not have to say worsted weight. Maybe you have a Wal-mart with yarn?

  • hmm i could check walmart its a lil far but yea i can check there. :) thx :)

    p.s

    love your videos! =3

    -mrowrrr-

  • @kayzap you can try romini wool on queen street west. It's near bathurst subway station. you have to take the 511 street car to bathurst and queen street west and walk about a block west. They have a wide selection of wool and at a very reasonable price :)

  • Very pretty. Do you have any cell phone case patterns that just have simple stitches?

  • thanks teresa,I have learned so many things from your channel. Its fun to learn crochet.

  • Hola Teresa, voy a intentar realizar este trabajo, tu lo haces parecer muy fàcil, vamos a ver còmo me va. Todos los anteriores me resultaron perfectos. Ojalà entiendas español. Saludos desde Ecuador

  • Thank you for all your videos, knitting is soo relaxing and i've learnt a lot from you.

I'm having a little bit of trouble with this stitch, though. I can do the two rows it takes for a full star. But i can't do more than that, if i try doing a third row, which would be the first half of the stitch i'm lacking of chains, it's like i'm reducing when doing the half double crochets. =(..

Any ideas on what i'm doing wrong?

  • Keep in mind that you are work the star stitch over 2 of the half double crochet. The amount of stitches will be the same on each row. You will have 6 loops on your hook for each star.

  • Now it looks as it should!

I really appreciate you had taken the time to answer me, thank you! = )

  • Hi, thanks Teresa, I would like the single crochet beanie cap one, that would be great..MonikaRose

  • Hello, love your videos. How would you increase the bottom base section, to make the pouch wider at the bottom, so it is not so flat. Just using the sc would be fine. Thanks MonikaRose

  • I have several hat video's that show how to make a wider base. One is a single crochet beanie cap and I have a star stitch cap like this one. Let me know if you are interested in either of those and I will send you the link.

  • Help, please! I've been working on the bottom for the last 10 or 15 min. (told you I am a slow crocheter) and I'm not sure how to start the 2nd 14 sts on it. Last time I tried, I came up with 27 sts. In the video are you putting 2 sc when you do the 2nd 14 sts? Thank you.

  • I am not clear on what you are asking. I do have some written instructions on my crochet blog if that will help.

  • I finally figured it out. I'm working on the flap now. I'm going to make a little strap to put it on my wrist when shopping. It is sooooooo pretty, will post a photo on Facebook. Thank you so very much for your great designs. :)

  • I am glad you got it figured out.

  • I've made a pink one of these for my DSLite, thank you! It's lovely :)

  • You are welcome. :)

  • Sheila2937 has posted a great video response of her crochet pouch. Check it out!!!!

  • its really cool! i love it!by the way... how long did this take you???? this would have taken me hmmm... i think about a year.... im very bad at crocheting... :)

  • It might take half of an hour to make.

  • you are really really good. such a good teacher!

  • Thank you. :)

  • I think stuff like that is soo beautiful ! Maybe because i cant do it myself .. xD

  • Oh wow this is beautiful! I bet that star stitch would look so great as a hobo bag!

  • You are getting the idea. You don't have to use the stitch that is done in a pattern or tutorial. You can usually adapt a pattern stitch to any pattern.

  • I think I am going to try it! =D How would I start a hobo bag with this stitch though?

  • You would start it with half double crochet. It would need to be worked in individual rounds.

  • hi,

Thanks for the video..i've already started my work...When i see the pouch on this video it looks much bigger but one which im trying looks pretty small...

    anyways, Thanks again..

  • You are welcome. The pouch in the tutorial is 4 inches by 6 inches when finished.

  • HI Teresa,

How many chains & star stich should be made for little bigger flat pouch?

  • Hi, The multiple is 2 + 3. That means you will need to add 2 chains for each additional star stitch you want to add on.

  • hey, thanks for the advice...

  • Miss newbie here. Only been crocheting for a couple months now.. does this mean that if I wanted one more star stitch that I would chain 20 instead of 15?

  • You would chain 17 instead of 15. It takes only 2 additional chains for one more star stitch.

  • Hey Teresa,

Can you please post what yarn you are using along with the crochet hook size.

    Thanks !

  • It is posted on my crochet blog.

  • oo this is pretty!!

I am thinking this stitch will look very pretty as a beanie with the brim ...hmmm now you have me thinking, now where is my hook !

  • I have already made a baby beanie out of this stitch and it is really cute. I am working on an adult beanie pattern.

  • ooo really !!! are you gona post a video?? PLEEEEASE with sugar on top :)

  • My intentions are to post a video when I work through the pattern and I am satisfied with it.

  • I am making this for my mom to put her cig pack in. Do you think that would work?

  • It would be large enough for that.

  • You are welcome.

  • This is so cool, I'm going to try it.This will look great with the pouch you showed. Thank You!
