The problem of Keynesian inspired economics, which is by definition pseudo-economics, is that even when reality is slapping them in the face (bailouts didn't work, so we need more bailouts), they won't change their standpoints. This makes their psuedo-theories actually being ideologies, because in essence their standpoints are infallible. Peter Schiff makes arguments that are in principle possible to be falsified by reality, but aren't, because his arguments are actually right and spot on.

What the others fail to see is that if we start borrowing and spending money people don't have we will only reinflate this bubble and go through this again in the near future. I think what Peter is saying is that if we let the market work and these companies go under the economy will right itself and we will create real jobs that will let us save and spend money, and we would not need to borrow money to have a a good economy.

You are right about that, I talked to my local MP (member of parliment) and they are Keynesians so we are in a lot of trouble in Canada and it shows in the gold price.

You should see gold in Canadian dollars now, our dollar is not the worlds reseve currency so its over a 1000 as of today when it was only 600 in the summer of 07. I just wish I had the money to buy it then, now its insane:(

The government will attempt to prolong times of less pain but will do that at the expense of making things worse end the end. Obama wants to create government construction projects to keep PEOPLE working, what he does not mention is this will keep Illegals, working therefore increase the Dem dependent base & encourage more Illegal immigration. The Economic Research Group guy is even more clueless. He thinks we need more credit for people who are already living on credit to get by. Average People are over extended & allowing them to get even more over extended will only delay failure & make failure even worse when it Does come. Lend only to people who will be able to pay the loan back but those people(like me) are going to be very cautious about spending in the future.

Increase manufacturing here & sell our products wherever we can.
