  • yeh phil was the one with the great voice agree still does

  • as soon as phil joins in the choir of angels awakes

  • cool

  • I really wish the youtube big boys would realize that WE- the EB fans ,never had Much Music or video in our Day--

when they remove or block any thing related to EB it really isn't fair.

they do let all that new MUSIC ( had to call it something !) here though.

come on please have a heart.

  • Ahh, Dad Everly, Mom, Donnie and baby boy Phil. Makes me smile and cry at the same time.

  • I've been listening and watching these two Gods of music since I was 13; and thats 51 years now. I wrote in EBI back in 1977 that I'd swop every Everly record I had (I have them all) just to see them one more time at the Albert Hall. I got my wish. I don't think they could tour any more, but an "Un-pluged TV show" to give reverence to Don and Phil would be wonderful.

  • I agree with Tin Tin below Shoot me if i miss them (anybody know how to get them going ?) Fans dont care if you have to wheel tthem on stage We just love these gugs !!

  • somewhere must be official recordings audio and camera of one of the concerts of 2005. Anyone know who taped it and if it will be available sometime?

  • Guys, thanks.

  • I really hope they decide to tour again. I will surely kick myself if I never get the chance to see them perform.

  • Seems like I hear an older, more mature voice on the song. Was that Dad?

  • Their dad introduces the song, then it is Don and Phil aged 13 & 15, then Don and phil Aged 66 & 68 join in to finish the song.

Their dad's voice isn't on the song.

  • Sorry, I didn't read your intro. Beautiful!

  • Baby Boy Phil! I love it! Thanks for posting this.

  • Marvellous!!!

    Grandma Mary

  • I'm on such an EB kick- Love hearing these old ones. Thanks, and Thanks Youtube!

  • I saw them do this in Nottingham. It was really effective.

  • I was at their concert in the Manchester Appollo theatre (UK) in 1991. Was a fab night :)

  • I love the way you say FAB

  • Baby boy Phil is so precious with his little Minnie Mouse voice!!! It is hard to believe that they were only 18 and 20 years old when they recorded Bye Bye Love as they sounded so experienced and so "tight". They were so ahead of their time.

  • They rang like a bell through my childhood.

  • I read where Don is now 71 and Phil. .69. Damn, where has the time gone? I grew up in rural Va listening to the EBs on AM radio and playing 45's on Cadence records. They set the standards in harmonizing that so many artists who followed used for inspiration. Like many others, I was fortunate to see my idols. . mainly after they reformed in '84. I consider those outdoor arena concerts among the best I've ever witnessed. These men helped shape my life and for that, I'm eternally grateful.

  • This is so great to hear the Everly Brothers in their early days when they did their concert in England when they had their Dad with them way back this is really great that this early recording got dug up out of the archives to be put on youtube Thank you.

  • Just to clarify, this is a recent concert in England where they played a recording during the concert. The recording, which was from the radio originally featured the voice of their dad introducing them, and the two brothers singing a song as kids, which they completed along with the recording as much older adults at the concert.

  • The sequence with their father on the radio is mixed into their late 60's album 'Roots'. This is a seriously under-rated record and thoroughly deserves to be more widely known.

  • So true, critics say "Roots" was ahead of it's time ....one of the finest early country-rock albums"!

  • Great to hear that early audio of them with their dad!

  • Sometimes i feel guilty aout wanting them to do one more special or tour because maybe we should just let them enjoy their retirement and be glad for what they have given!!

  • I agree totaly, yes I would love to see them again, as their music has meant so much to me ever since my childhood, but they deserve a rest, I wish them a long and happy retirement, and thank them for everything.

  • Well spoken, Megasuggs.

  • Great clip! Do you have an audio version of 'he stopped lovin her today'?

  • Sadly I don't, it is one of the best (saddest) songs I have ever heard, I wish I had a copy of it.

  • I have a cassette recording from a Radio 2 Broadcast of a concert at the Manchester Appollo. I think it is from 1997. If i manage to get it transferred to CD i will send you a copy.

  • Thanks but don't worry, I have found a copy, I will make a video for it as soon as I have time.

  • Oh, I look forward to seeing and hearing it!

  • Most excellent photos!!

And the audio on this is a treasure! Thanks for sharing!

  • By all accounts, their Kentucky and mid-Western roots and their Dad meant a great deal to them. How touching when they return to their musical roots and sing these old country songs with such feeling. Lovely.

  • beautiful

  • This is so sweet... loved it! Wonderful to know they're still here,[so many artist's of that era are gone now]!

  • Unfortunately your words are true. More than likely the last UK concert they will ever play. I am just glad i got to see them one last time.

  • The song is "Darling Don't Let Our Love Die". Great stuff. Thanks...

  • Blimey - I'm the first viewer! Not a great video, but great performers. They will go down in the history of popular music. Ask Albert Lee.

  • I know its not great, but I put it up as I think it has historical interest.
