@jmugrad1 I use chocolate ganache underneath fondant. The cake needs to be thawed to room temp before applying fondant. Have a look at inspired by Michelle on YouTube and her website - she has great tutorials on this.
@amaryllisjaune Thanks. I didn't sell this particular cake. As for some of my other cakes, I have sold them, but the prices vary depending on size and design. you'll also find that in different cities and countries the prices will be different.
Thanks Mayen. I actually don't have mini pans - I just use a 6 inch square pan and divide into quarters. I freeze the little cakes individually and then decorate them when needed. I've heard people bake little cakes in canned food cans. This sounds like very practical and cheap, but I'm not sure how safe it is to use them for baking.
Your cake looks really really clean and neat. I love the shade of pink (it looks purple to me though) that you used. Overall I think you did a tremendous job.
Thanks:) Yes, the colour is supposed to be purple, but I thought that maybe I shouldn't have put so many purple things on it! She liked it anyway, which is the main thing.
Do you ice with buttercream before applying the fondant?
If so, do you freeze the buttercream iced cake before applying the fondant?
When applying the fondant is the cake frozen or at room temp?

What is your process for making mini cakes?
Do you freeze the cake and then cut the individual cakes?
jmugrad1 1 month ago
@jmugrad1 I cut the individual cakes first and then freeze them separately so I can take out the number I need at the time.
