My first electric guitar was an Epiphone Coronet. It died a horrible death in a freak dresser accident back in the early 70's (damn roomates !). God, I loved that guitar!
Yeah, I'll come on down and jam on that amp. Those amps are $12,000 plus. One just sold on ebay for a mere 16,000 someone used the "buy it now" option. Wish I had that change.
I personally would take the reissue. having a vintage amp would be nice, but for the price of an original i can buy a bluesbreaker reissue, a vox ac30h2 hand wired head and cabinet, a 1959slp AND a les paul. and the reissue will sound just as good as the original
not at all. the old JTM circuits were based off of the 59 Fender Bassman's. So... Would an ac30 sound like a 59 bassman? No. Would an ac30 sound like a bluesbreaker? No.
i have a 65 coronet as indicated by the serial number. it was made at the kalamazoo gibson plant in michigan. only thing is, is that it has a single coil pickup comparable to something like a fender lace, and the pickguard is different than any other coronet i have ever seen or anybody has ever heard of. instead of it just being the "butterfly shape" and staying on the neck side of the pickup, the pickguard encases the pickup and wraps down to encase the pots to.has anyone ever seen one of these
I used to own a 78' coronet. It was a cherry sunburst, i sold it for 100 bucks though, it was a japanese model.. saving up for a mustang. someday when im rich i'll buy a 60's coronet again.

i think the gibson custom guys are doing a reissue of that model, or very close. but it is at least £2,000.

You can get a '62 reissue Marshall bluesbreaker for 2300, jrmsher33. I've played both, and they sound exactly the same. I'm saving up for one now.

Brian Hall could play a coconut through a fax machine and he'd sound like a God. But yeah, he sure sounds good through that old Marshall too!
