LoL! Just a couple of years after this moving people were emailing instead of letter writing. Costner always struck me as a guy who wanted to be the Road Warrior SO badly that he poured way too much money and time into several movies that he hoped would make him that type of character and failed painfully especially with water world.

I remember seeing this extended trailer once --then never again. Probably because the line they picked kept getting more and more absurd, with the word "postman" occurring waaay too frequently. Unsurprisingly, the movie arrived DOA. Not nearly as bad as the reviews through, and as a fan of post-apocalyptic movies, it's decent. Costner gave us Waterworld and this... LOL. (and the inspiration for Avatar)

A seriously underated movie about how all the things we take for granted can be gone so quickly and easily. When it all falls someday... Which I Hope it dosn't and we experience what this movie shows "predicts" it will take people like the postman to bring it all back together again.

oh my god!!!! better than the godfather the exorcist and schindlers list put together,kevin costners acting was so amazing i thought this movie was real...i will never take my mail man for granted ever again . ive already watched this movie 34 times..and now i will watch it with the family every christmas morning..my wife asked me what i wanted to do for my birthday and i told her i wanted to stay home and watch the postman ive since quit my job and i watch it all day and i reenact this film....
