Doesn't look like Fritz is playing in this concert, but I see Marty and Phil. Those two plus Matt Tropman mean that I've had lessons with 3 of the players in this recording.
At 2:33 you can see Matt attempt to secure his second valve. I had to chuckle at that.
Maybe the arrangement for the ensemble is by Gail Robertson but the arrangement for the solo instruments is by the GREAT trumpeter Thomas Stevens (originally written for 4 trumpets).
Thank you for responding, it would be great if you can help.Ya I live in the city of Rostov-on-Don, Russia, and we plan to make the festival baritone, because we are very malo.I would like to get the notes of the piece.
@euphfellowship I hear you - Childs is a beast. For me, it's like: On this 'elite' level of euphonium artistry, everyone (for the most part) has monsterous technique, so I realy like when the 'sound' of the person separates them from the pack. (That is why you can almost readily recognize Childs, Berhend, Bowman, Mead, Frey and many others...) But to me, Demondrae's "SOUND" is so unique, rich & flavorful - no one else sounds like him!
I had a private lesson with Demondrae this summer. I learned a lot and he even let me play on his custom made euphonium. It was so amazing I hope I can go to the University of Alabama next year!!!
A couple of nice pearlers from the soprano player, like at 2:25. The eupho players were, well, typical eupho players and consequently the wrong side of the band to be of much interest :)
The "black man" is Demondre Thurman who is as proficient on trombone as he is on euphonium and teaches at u of Alabama. He's as high quality a person as his playing and I am honored to have him as a friend.
Personally, I do not like the arrangement of Carnival of Venice, I find it to bare little resemblance to Arban's work. However, that is one man's view, I'm sure others on the night enjoyed it.
I would like to apologise to Mr. Thurman if he has found my comment to be rascist - again not intended.
My comment reflects the typical, shall we say European, brass band, where (truly) we rarely see non Caucasians partaking in this model of music making.
Being the original critic of your comment, let me also be the 1st to publicly recognize your apology. I completely respect your opinion on the arrangement and appreciate the way your feelings have been reworded.
Personally, I like the arrangement but I appreciate it differently than I would the Arban's. Similarl to how you can enjoy both vanilla and mint chocolate chip ice cream. They're completely different flavors but, in my book, not mutually exclusive. Just my 2 cents.

Is it true, Blackdyke, that all brass musician in Ireland are uneducated drunk men with red hair who never finish playing the arrangement because they break out in a brawl everytime someone blows a wee bit flat?
You don't get out much to see the rest of the world, do you? What a pathetic racist ignoramus.
Whos the black guy? I want to look him up.
