I ve got question, I just got a 2005 ltz 400 and the shocks are not that good for track riding. I was wondering the LTR 450 shocks would work on my ltz?

I have a 06 z and love it couple simple mods and i dont have a problem at all staying up with friends on 450's, actually i am usually pushing to pass them once we get going, cant wait to get the green for the upgrade to a newer model
im pretty sure they will. i dont think they changed the 09 frame and such but i do believe the stock a arms on the 09 are maybe an inch wider then 08 and down but the long travels should fit
i got a 03 z400 and my fan hardley ever comes on when my buddy has a 07 z400 and his is basicly running the whole time can ne body tell me whats wrong????
this is not about the z's but you probably know alot about suzuki im wondering how often do you change the email in the ltr 450's any advice would help
am 13 years old 110 pounds 5 foot 1 realy good with a clutch because i ride 250 dirtbikes can throw my bros 250ex around all day long but it doesnt have enough power what kind of quad should i get for track
I bought the 09 Z400 back in October 2008. I absolutely love the bike. Suzuki improved on just about everything that the previous year Z400's needed to be better. The acceleration is quicker, Throttle response is Really smooth and the suspension upgrades keep the bike stable and less likely to roll. I would recomend this bike for anyone who is a recreational sport rider. If you are a serious MX racer you may want to go with a 450...But the new Z400 most definately has potential. Great bike!

hello i am thinking of buying this quad well i want a fast quad which should be good for dunes MX and trail riding well what is the top spedd of it? and is it faster then the raptor 700 which class is this quad in and what class is the raptor 700 in i want a all purpose quad and how is the yamaha banshee and is the LTZ a smooth ride
hey well first of all this quad can go pretty fast and it is a all purpose quad, the raptor is in a totally different class and it is very heavy and it isnt wide enough so it can flip easier at the dunes. so this will be better for the sand dunes and the banshee is a 2 stroke which is harder to ride at the sand dunes and it is really only for racing in my oppinion because it dosent have enough power for the sand dunes . So i think this will be the best
so is this a smooth ride? man u know alot abot this quad then i will buy this but the only problem will be the lack of colour options what would be the top speed on this for stock?
well you can always buy aftermarket plastics because this one uses the suzuki ltr 450 plastics and there are tones of them. And i'm not sure about the top speed but you could probably google it, it is definatly faster then the other400's because it is fuel injected.
Banshee doesnt have enough power for the dunes? If you ask me the Banshees are right at home in the dunes. I couldnt think of a better place to ride a banshee
It would be hard to judge. I think the tendency to wheelie would be similar to the old machine but where we tested traction was less available then back east where we are based.
Wow, that would be expensive. You might be better off selling yours and buying a new one.
If you dont want that expense add a pipe, rev box, filter and rejet your machine and your Z will be faster. If it were time to replace your quad the new Z is pretty awesome.
It is a different class of quad and it also costs $2500 more then the Z. The Suzuki is a sport machine and the KTM is a race quad. The Z is lighter then the Raptor 700 but those two machines are in different classes as well.
If you look at the weights on the Kawasaki's they seem to have gained a lot of weight too.
This is because manufacturers are now listing "curb weight" instead of dry weight. Dry weight could be the machine without fuel, oil, shock oil, coolant and any other fluid. Curb weight is the weight of the machine plus all of the fluids necessary to ride. That is the reason for the weight increase.
thanks man, i was unaware of the change and thought they ment without any fluid, but thanks for the heads up, i know my kfx weighs around 425 too with fluids and what not
man, only if they would've gave it the undertail exhaust. Do you think it would be possible to get an efi system off the new and put it on an older model?
Do you know if there is a full exhaust system or slip on that is as loud as the 2012 stock exhaust

We didn't do a top speed run at the intro. It should be as fast as the previous Z but should get there faster.

could u possibly put 2009 z400 plastics on 2005 z's or would u have to weld more plastic mounts?

They should have put the exhaust in the middle to make the bike have better center of gravity, like the 450

do u think it would be more easier to wheelie than the other 400 besause of the design of the frame or would it keep it down
quadrider123456 3 years ago
It would be hard to judge. I think the tendency to wheelie would be similar to the old machine but where we tested traction was less available then back east where we are based.
Body roll is definitely reduced.

Hey euhm when id buy some lonesta a-arms , elka's ,nerfs, skidplates, bumper, axle and stufffor the ltz of 08' will that fit on the 09'?

cool machine
mhrteam70cc 3 years ago
hey this vid is awsome would the fuel injecxtion be bad for wheelies n is the 08 much worse than the 09
shadowxichero 3 years ago
F I adds acceleration, so in that case it is easier to wheelie. The front of the frame has been lightened, so this quad is an easy quad to wheelie.
