im from norway and the only tourists i see here who is not traveling in a housemobile stuffed with food they brought from home are japanese people whom are even wealthier than us lol. japan is the worlds most expensive country to live in, norway is the second most expensive country to live in, japans population is 127.2mill norways population about 5mil. not lookin forward to our oil running out :(

@agaen96 well, Norwegians are richer, plain simple;) for instance, an american farmer that ows 30 000 daa(10x100meters) earns less than a norwegian farmer witt 300 daa..and the norwegian farmers are grosly underpaid for their work, wich is the main reasons why 50 years ago, there were 300 000 farmers. Now they are less than 50 000.

Uten dem hadde alt vært mye dyrere og vi hadde hatt ekstrem mangel på arbeidskraft. Hvis du har problemer med å skaffe deg jobb så er det fordi du er apatisk og sitter hjemme og forventer at staten skal ordne jobb til deg. Kom deg ut av huset og slutt å hev trygd mann.

I live in Norway, and frankly I feel so sorry for all of the tourists that come here every year, because all I can think of is that every time they're going to buy a meal out for themselves, they basically have to dig up half of their lifesavings..

@HrHaakon not neccecarely. You have the option to not live expensively, like you dont in Tronheim for example, which is the most expensive city to live in.

@IneffableLifestyle Having lived around ørsta and Trondheim and visited plenty of other places, including Oslo, I just don't see any difference bar housing. Even with housing there are cheaper options than the city centre, Heimdal for example.

As for the rest. I live in the city (Trondheim) and don't think its any worse than any other part of the country, also coupled with far better wages here than most other countries I don't find it expensive anyway.

The bad part about the high prices is that it helps increasing the already too big... aww fuck, i forgot the english word so you'll have to live with norsk xD det allerede altfor store skillet mellom mindre velstående og rike.

@IneffableLifestyle true, working a temp job while in school i've made an average of about $17-20.000 a year for the past four years. Hourly wage was about $15 when i started and $22-23 the past year. I still find a lot of things to be expensive, but i can afford them easily as long as i don't live above my means.

You think those homeless people in Oslo just come out of nowhere? They are there because in Norway, once you diverge AT ALL from what the state tells you you should be, you lose all access and nobody gives a shit about you anymore.

Norway is a cold, ruthless and hateful place if you do not have the 2.5 children, house in the suburbs and 2 volvos you are SUPPOSED to have.
