how do you think you would go spearfishing kingies at port augusta ????? how deep and are there man sharks in the area..... ive been up there a few times and see them everywhere but cant seem to get a strike.... thinking speargun with stretch cord and float might be a goer ?
chances are it was nailed by a shark within a minute or two of release due to it's inability to swim fast enough to escape them after the lactic acid buildup during such a long fight.
you calling me a gook? lol..clasic..( white as can be) and me running on worm's (slang for a newb in the oilfield)..till they give up and go back to what ever it was they did before trying to be a man..sound's emo? so...if ya are talking to me? fuck me running your dumb...DO YOU KNOW WHAT LACTIC ACID IS? hell no ya dont. beside's yellow tail (real name) are great table fare..the fish will swim off. but the acid kill's more released fish then a newb like you know's about. need any more schooling?
@wormkilla Lactic acid buildup doesn't kill all fish, so it's better to release and give the fish a chance of survival. It's got nothing to loose. This movie was filmed in Australia and it's a Kingfish, when will you cyber dooshbags realise that different countries have different names for their fish. There is no "Real Name", unless you talk scientific names
Theres plenty of water out front of the Powerhouse, here in Port Augusta. And you need pretty heavy gear so you they dont break you off. They're monsters and great fun!!
Its called setting the drag if yout drag is set correct you would be amazed what u get in good gear is a must with this type of fishing i use a penn senator the only overhead reel to use i think
pound for pound kingies must be on of the hardest fighting fish in the ocean...i recently was lucky enough to catch a few to about 7kg at montague island off narooma nd even they go like fcuk... great footage...great fish...thanks for sharing
This bloke has the best job ever. I dream of catching a big king like that! Top stuff, have to get around to buying adventure bound on dvd. Definitely going on holiday to Port Augusta one day
I used to live in port augusta for 9 years gowing up. i love fishing and king fish live up to ther name! i can see you are fishing near the power station. i used to ride my bike up ther and throw a line in on weekends. Great video. 5 stars

ionball20 11 months ago
thats a amberjack. not a kingfish. kingfish are way skinner than that and they dont have a yellow line through their body. kingfish are all gray
