  • found 5 Grapes of Wrath concert shirts :) must have seen them over 20 times when I was going to university :)

  • you guys were one of my favorite band in the late 80's and the 90's

    OMG where have you gone?

  • Toronto loves this group from Vancouver. 80s never die!!!

  • Incredible fucking song

  • i found this song surprisingly late, and im pretty sure half the views are from me hahaha so good

  • @MacflyinHigh420 You and me both!!

  • This makes me feel like I should be flipping through cassettes at Sam the Record Man on a family trip into Toronto in the dead of winter.

  • @audiokitty Wow - I haven't thought about "Sam the Record Man", or "Cheapies" or "A&A Records" (which I thought was extremely overpriced) in ages. In Vancouver, there wasn't "Cheapies", but on 'record row' (Seymour Street), there was "A&B Records", which used to have REALLY good sales...

  • 89X

  • This may just be the greatest Canadian retro-rock song of all time

  • extremly under rated

  • so don`t call back

  • this band is from my home town of kelowna. in fact i am only 18 and i still live there.

  • @bcasey25raptor kelowna is a great place to be

  • Fantastic Canadian band!

  • yeah right was in response to "virtualpopster"- doesn't your name say it all?- fuckin wannabe! These guys are my cousins, and Tom says "who the fuck?...

  • Ash Alexander.

  • Check the album credits nissasstaz. x

  • lol!

  • It's true.

  • Check the album credits nibsasstaz.

I can hear you singing 'You may be right...' x

  • nibsasstaz has left the building!

  • For what it's worth:

Thanks for your enlightening response. It smacks of ignorance. You'll find your research has let you down. This was a general comment made about the 5 years I worked at Abbey Road, including the sessions on this album.

Your apology for being rude, ignorant and a little hasty in your response is accepted.

I hope the Chinook winds thaw your cold veneer. I bet you're ok underneath it all. x

Regards, Ash (aka 'fuckin wannabe) - as we all are in one way or another.

    Peace. x

  • sure can tell when the record company got a hold of there influence on this album, earlier stuff was far less engineered!!

  • I assisted John Leckie on the mix of this at Abbey Road. Happy days and great memories.

  • yeah, right

  • My coworker back in the day opened up for these guys in the 90's and I got to go backstage. The one guitarist....not kevin...but the other one fed me grapes as I lay on his lap~

  • @saucierrr

that sounds soooooooooooooo much like what a bunch of 90's Canadian shoe gazing rock stars would do. :) No coke, no whores, just an innocuous feeding session back stage.

Personally I loved this melancholic album in the 90s, but when i dated a girl that had the same love for it, it eventually destroyed me.

  • These songs could easily be mistaken as being recent releases. I think there is a true talent with the Grapes of Wrath that was understated when they arrived on the scene around the early 90s. Furthermore, they were a class act and if you listen to their albums, you have to search hard for even one banal track.

  • WICKED. These guys were the BEST. I spent my LIFE savings on a Rickenbacker 360 after watching this video.. In fact that's probably why I couldn't afford University, and I'm a better man for it.

  • Even though I support you buying a ricky(awesome guitars) IDIOT lol

  • @Toph7444 thats awsome!

  • @Toph7444 Rickenbackers do that to some of us....

  • @Toph7444 u r awesome

  • One of the things I loved about growing up in Buffalo was being able to hear and see the best Canada had to offer-- and that included these guys.:>).

  • God, I LOVE THIS SONG. I always did. SO sexy, good romp song- (T. Hooper you are HOT call me) Added it to my favorites about a year ago and just tonight opened an account so I can comment- anyone want to correspond? I'm a nubie and not sure how to go about it, maybe someone could help, but I'd love to talk music with anyone, male or female- I'm PARTICULARLY fond of OASIS. .

  • Oh my god yes. These guys were so good. I was too young to appreciate them back in their prime. Thank god for stumbling back over things you haven't heard in a million years.

  • God I love this song --- miss grapes,

    djt

  • bomb track.

  • Damn, I miss this band.

  • I saw these guys live in Oakville back in the summer of 1992 I believe... they were very tight (meaning that they played well). It was not long after that they had split up...

  • The Big Star of the 1990s.

"Now and Again" is a masterpiece.

  • I totally agree. That album changed me!

  • Saw them back in '01 at the Marque in Halifax, I believe it was a reunion tour. They were awesome! Really good live!!

  • Hey all I saw them in Grade nine They came to WCI 1991 in Woodstock ON. !!

  • The Grapes of Wrath were outstanding. This song is around 20 years old and sounds just as current as some the top Indie bands today. I like Beatlesque groups and the GOW are among the best.

Compare Klaatu and Dukes of Stratosphear

  • The lost George Harrison single that never made it on the White Album....

  • very Beatles-sounding

Damn, good memories of this album.

  • Holy shit I haven't heard this song since I was about 13. Awesome song

  • These guys, and this album in particular, got me through a really tough time. Just found it randomly and bought it without listening. Just seem to call to me...

  • hell yeah, forgot about these dudes. cool shit

  • 10,000 views?!? My shitty little video has more views than these guys. These guys are soo awesome though. Did they ever breakthrough to the US?

  • Probably in the top 3 world's most underated music group, timeless stuff for sure. Saw them in a windstorm at UVIC in September 1992, still performed awesomely. A real treat!

  • I agree. Very underrated.

  • As much as I like the Grapes of Wrath. There's alot more good underated bands found here in Canada than you think. I really don't wanna list all of them.

  • I think it was recorded at Abbey Road, Could be wrong.

  • It was recorded in Vancouver but mixed at Abbey Road. John Leckie produced and/or engineered it (can't remember exactly). Great sounding album.

  • i got this cd pretty hard to find now bought it a flea market its awesome their acoustic and piano music are pretty insane I couldnt any guitar pro tabs of them someone help me

  • This tune sounds slightly Beatles-ish, and that's why I love it. They were such a talented band. Too bad they were underrated.

  • Totally awesome song!! totally under appreciated!!!

  • Absolutely the most under-appreciated bands of the 80's, perhaps of all time. Artists just don't make this type of music anymore, and it's a crying shame.

  • great CANADIAN band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tom Hooper is amazing!

  • I am willing to bet Tom Hooper has a big hoop too;)

  • Are you saying you want to him drop soap in the shower?

  • yay
