  • GREAT --- UNFORGETIBEL Dolf Schaller

  • GREAT ---UNFORGET

  • Nothin' like The Freshman and I've been everywhere.

  • R.I.P. Ross Barbour. One of the nicest people ever.

  • Could anyone help me find the lyric to this song, please! I'd appreciate it.

  • Mr.Bob Flanigan.. really great artist.

    RIP

  • RIP Bob Flanigan 1926-2011

  • we aint seen nothin like you either before or after .melodic swinging and pitch for starters .the fabulous four freshmen.thanks

  • So smooth and breezy. And it swings. These guys are pretty cool. Theyre alot better than todays groups

  • This is swinging! They CARE! A lot of groups don't get that anymore! You gotta snap those lyrics out! Plus all those little slick twists and drops. Groovy! I love this and just about all the stuff they ever did (the new group is quite good too, no?).

  • Your Much Smoother Than The Girl From VANCOUVER,I met in North Carolina! HA!

    :28 Thats Cute...Am From BC!

  • I think it was

    Flannigan,played a valve trombone,when they were playing at fack;s bar,on market street,in

S F about 1950,when they cut 10 numbers ,thanks to Stan kenton

  • i'm soooooooooooooooo in love with them !!!!!

    i love this one,nice song....

thanks to the "reborn" four freshmen !

  • The only surviving member, I believe, is Bob Flanagan(seen playing bass in the early films......he was also a hell of a great trombonist too!)

  • Ross is still alive too! He was at the 2008 convention in Indiana.

  • Is Ross the guitarist whose brother was an original member? Did his brother die in a car accident

    in the early 60s?

  • Ross and Don are brothers. Ross is the drummer, and is still alive, Don is the guitarist and he was killed in a car accident in 1961.

  • Doesn't look like Ken...they must have had someone that preceeded him....he sure sounds good!

  • That's Hal Kratsch, the original bass singer. This is the first group of the Freshmen. After a couple years he was replaced by Ken Errair for a few more years, and then Ken Albers who was in the group for over 20 years. Hal and Ken Errair are arguably the 2 best bass voices in the groups history.

  • THESE GUYS STILL ALIVE??????????

  • Magnificent !

  • How many part harmony... this stuff is so good... to hear now... Brian Wilson's inspiration for that Beach Boy harmony... yup! Peace, ~S :D

  • 4 voices singing "5 part" harmony. My favorite 2 versions of this group are these (the originals) and the current group. I also think that Kratsch and Calderon are the 2 best trumpeters that the group has had...and 2 very different styles.

  • What do you mean ?? How can 4 voices sing 5-parts ? Are you referring to them jumping around from one part to another ? Just curious. Always wanting to learn more. Thanks

  • @BeachBoysGuy1 What it means is that you often have 5 note chords. For example, Dm9 contains D, F, A, C, E, and that could resolve to G13(b9), which contains G, B, F, Ab, E. So the arranger has to decide the best way to go from chord to chord while only using four of the five notes in each chord. (It usually means leaving out the root).

  • @mharbaugh Thanks very much. I knew most of what you've written, but always great to hear more. Mahalo from Hawaii, John

  • I thought I'd heard all of their music and I've been following them since 1956 but this one is new to me...

These guys have alway been incredible..

  • Great!

  • Fantastic!!!

  • These guys were great ! I found them through

"Butt Face" Song Johnny August+ 3 Minus 2.

Sometimes an imitation leads you to something

    nice.

  • So smooth, so unique. Singing and playing.

A one of a kind vocal /instrumental group.

  • THE GREATEST VOCAL GROUP OF ALL TIME !

  • Is that Ken Errair on trumpet?

  • Sorry, that's the original, Hal Kratsch.

  • i ain't seen nothing like them..... how can 4 guys create such a big sounding piece?

  • These are the real Mcoy , the original Four

Freshmen ! Always so great !
