My ancestors originally came from the Austro-Hungarian Empire. I appreciate especially the Austrian school of economics born in the empire. I also feel sad that Otto von Habsburg is now gone. Noi abbiamo sbagliato a fare le due guerre, ma l'unità italiana è qualcosa che ancora oggi rende orgogliosi tutti, poi è ovvio che ci siano cose da migliorare.

@EUFede Non direi, o meglio si devono fare dei distinguo: Trieste era italiana, magari l'architettura richiamava l'Austria (ma se è per questo anche Slovenia, Rep.Ceca, Ungheria), l'odierna provincia di Trento sicuramente italiana, d'accordissimo con te sull'Alto Adige (per un Sud Tirol italiano c'è una Corsica francese, che scempi). Noi abbiamo sbagliato a fare le due guerre, ma l'unità italiana è qualcosa che ancora oggi rende orgogliosi tutti, poi è ovvio che ci siano cose da migliorare.

Dovremmo partire appunto da quello, a differenza di Spagna, Francia, ecc noi abbiamo una sola lingua. Le differenze andrebbero fatte con un decentramento, ma non di tipo federale, andrebbero tolte le regioni (cavallo di battaglia della lega, così le verrebbe finalmente tagliata la testa) e estese le competenze delle province.

the 'nightmare' was defeated by the forces of the monarchy man- he ended up weak in the face of legitimate, strong monarchies like austria, prussia and russia

P.S. My grandfather fighted in WW1 against AH empire soldiers. All of theese people wanted to live in peace for them and for their families. In AH, in Serbia, in whole Europe...Everyone wanted to live...

with democracy, the people get influenced by liberal 'values' based on materialism and squandor. a society where the people are manipulated by libertarian principles-socialists and demochristians have no difference nowadays to each other. and it all comes from the yankees who broke up our glorious continent into nation states and democracy. wilson was a man who stuck his nose into our affairs when he had no idea of europe's culture, or tradition, religion, respect, benevolence

look at what democracy brought-instability, weak governments, strikes, 'freedom of expression' (in reality, manipulation of minds by the media) a breakdown of Christian values. what did the extremes bring? wars, genocides, instability. monarchy? strong government, stability, christianity assured, a rule ased on the King's paternal love for his people. ok you dont vote, but with democracy we arent really free.

true monarchy has the setback of causing people who think theyre enlightened to question the monarch's authority. these people, who merely pretend to be enlightened so they can sieze power themselves, manipulate the masses with speeches and lies. the people swallow the lies, and the new regime brings hassle 100 times more than they got from the monarchy. yet the people still accept this-because they continue to think that they understand what is expected of them.

As a Hungarian, I think we should be grateful to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, because it brought us new technology and culture. (this is a little funny 'cause we WERE the empire itself too :) or at least an important part of it.
