Mike Judge morphed from a comic creator to a Prophet with Idiocracy. Easily the most horrifying "comedy" I've ever seen. And if you'll look at today's USA through that prism, you'll probably notice that not a day goes by without observing some scene -- a TV commercial, a "reality" show, someone at Wal-Mart -- that could very well be an excerpt from Idiocracy. Is there ever an episode of "America's Funniest Home Videos" that doesn't cop a scene from "Ow, My Balls!"? (Brought to you by Carl Jr.)

In the trial scene in the film, I just thought the prosecution's arguments to convict him were absolutely stunning in their brilliance.

Prosecution: "I object, your honor".

Judge: "Whut 'r u objectifyin' on?

Pros: Well, just look at 'im. All that fag talk, and he doesn't even have a tatoo. (crowd guffaws). -And we got all this, like, evidence he didn't pay his hospital bill. Mean, you gotta be shittin' me. The judge should be like, -GUILTY! Peace. (hi-5s all around)

@dirrtysteve89 Same here. Market researchers just tested it with average audiences, the same as Office Space. My kids and their cousins have the funniest lines memorized. My son has the red stapler on his desk at work. It's strange because it's so obvious and hilarious to us but most people don't appreciate the humor in his movies. Intelligence and sense of humor are related genetic traits. Researchers found that babies who laugh often are more intelligent. Hey, we can't help it!

Mike Judge is a genius. This film is a work of art. the message is a warning, but is so funny. You can watch this DVD again and again and still catch details you missed before. filled with memorable one liners, you must see this to appreciate it.

I didn't even know idiocracy was out until I saw it on cable. It's a brilliantly written film and I think will become a cult classic like Office Space, but it's not as good a film for one reason: Luke Wilson. Luke Wilson just doesn't cut the mustard as a leading man. He's a character actor who can do a decent job playing supporting roles, but he doesn't have the charisma to play the lead. Too bad, because in many ways Idiocracy is an important film.

The first 15 minutes of the movie are the greatest thing ever. After that it goest a bit down hill. But the first scene is absolutely brillient.

The first and last scenes are rumored to be what turned off the Hollywitz playas, and the black president probably didn't help the movie even though this was pre-Soeto.

i went to Idiocracy in the theater with a couple idiots. i was amazed that someone finally made a movie about what it feels like to live my life. i felt incredibly relief that there might be some hope for the human race after all. i said the movie was low-budget, but a stroke of GENIUS. i asked my idiot friends if they felt similar. they said they didn't like the movie. "It was dumb." i stood in the parking lot staring at them with amazement at the PERFECT parallel. i love/live this movie.

Yup. Tru dat. You have to really sit down and watch Mike Judge's movies. I like everything he does, but even for me Idiocracy was so different that I had to rewind it a few times to get into it, now I think it's brilliant.
