  • wow. looks like a lovely place. Thk you for sharing it with us.

  • thank you for this video! I wish I could visit these places one day

  • Well, it's a bit more serious than Kitano Takeshi's "Kantoku banzai" - but no matter, those ball puppets are funny enough.

Joking apart, it's really a captivating work - a prayer which moves everybody who, like me, love those old movies.

(Besides, you and Kitano resemble each other... I mean you both can be funny and serious alternately.)

  • That was beautiful. Very peaceful place.

  • Great video

    Thank you for sharing. =D

  • I take it they were closed that day, and you talked somebody into letting you film there? Normally you couldn't possibly get a frame without someone else there.

  • The scenery is so clean and prestine.

  • Thank you so much for this! You always surprise and delight with content.

  • The stationary camera works really well. The timing between the "scenes" is perfect. The compositions are really good. In short, I liked it. :)

  • I was expecting that woman to brush her hair in that circle in your intro. So "Ringu" like.

  • Haha, am I the only one so far who saw her at 0:45? XD

  • @MurdocLC I saw her.

  • I have been here before with my wife's parents. We just went to look at the Daruma museum, though, I had no idea that the temple enshrined so many film makers!

  • Great video!

  • Beautiful!!!!

  • Thank you Yoko for creating this amazing video. I am overwhelmed with emotions. It is for me as a great religious experience.

  • All is very serene and still... colorful, yet vibrantly alive with dissonant harmony.

  • 1:18 - 1:24 could be a shot from an Ozu film. :)

  • I love that there is no music in this video. Most people would feel the need to put some, but it is absolutely perfect the way you did it. Well done.

  • So beautiful and peaceful. As a big fan of Japanese cinema, it would be an honour to visit Daruma temple someday. But for now I am reading books. Have a super awesome weekend, Yoko-san. :)
