No NA Viper would ever have kept with Woon's 8 second Supra like that.. That looked like a 9 second car. It's not just HP it's how the car is setup to handle the HP - good 60 FT times. Either way, both cars are extremely fast.

Race the street and dot legal viper on here running mid 7's in the quarter. here's the catch. The supra has to be street and dot legal down to the tires like the viper( no weight reductions,no rollcage, all options intact including a/c). I think dodge's top supercar (stock) more than held it's own against a roided rice rocket.

@Koun15CyP It has a 2JZGTE. Stroker 3.4L from Titan Motorsports & Triple Walbro Fuel pumps. Aftermarket = ENGINE & FUEL MANAGEMENT. Stock is interior, transmission, differential, Chassis. Supra engines are beasts with single turbo setups. Chassis MA70, JZA70, JAZ80. or in other terms. 7MGTE, 1JZGTE, 2JZGTE. You name it.
This car has gone through various tunes and modes of tunes so that is the reason for the quotations for the power figure. At the time of the recording the car was known for the 1400whp dyno under a certain tune so that is why I used that number. I have also seen this car push "just" 1000whp on the dyno too.

Everyone on these video's keep saying how big v8's rule and that these imported tune motors are no match, but i have to say, to me it sounds like your just fed up of having these car piss on your beloved v8's and all you can do about it is moan. I don't get why people don't get over the fact that a bigger engine with all else being equal (boost, fuel, RPM, weight, tire size, driver ability) means a faster car. Hence, no matter what, V8 > I6. Sure, you can rev that I6 to 10,000 RPM and run 40 PSI of boost, but what if you did that to the V8 as well? It would be a blow out. It would hardly be a race at all!
Race car, isn't it? Viper is a full 3000# or more, I'm betting that HKS car is a fiberglass body over a tubular frame. The Viper is an all steel car perhaps with a roll cage, full interior. The HKS is probably as little sheetmetal as they can legally have, with a seat and a harness and nothing else as far as an interior goes.
This car runs on RACE GAS. Hence, it is not a STREET CAR. If you want to bring street legal cars that run on race gas into the equation, there's a 6 second twin turbo Camaro that's street legal.
If this car ran on pump gas, it would be closing the gap between the fastest V8 and the fastest I6. As it runs on race gas, it's still way off.
Given two cars with everything else being equal (driver skill, fuel, boost, RPM, tires, etc) the bigger engine will always win.
I don't see the big deal with running on 'race fuel' on the street -- it's legal here in Minnesota and technically it IS pump fuel because you can literally pump it right into your gas tank at certain public gas stations, but the fuel simply costs more than Premium. Remember, we're talking about a ~200ci engine here that pushes 1500hp+, not some crazy 500+ci beast -- so with that small amount of internal displacement, you can imagine the extreme cylinder pressures, EGTs, & req ign timing.
Right, now imagine a race fuel running V8 that revs to 12,000 RPM, runs 50 PSI of boost and makes 3500 HP+. Now you see why when all else is equal, the bigger engine will always win.
Believe it or not, there IS a reason why most competitive drag racing, road racing and just about every kind of racing uses a V8. It's a good design that is extremely versatile and powerful.

You're dumb as hell. The supra holds the standing mile record at 242mph over V10 vipers and countless V8's. Power is nothing if you can't put it down to the ground. Granted most built V8s put down some serious low end torque to get off the line, but at the top end the 2JZ-GTE just destroys them all. Different cars for different strokes. I hate your average day honda and riced out economy car but the Supra will forever be the highway king of cars.
I guess it depends on where you're from. I'm from the north, where we have lots of twisty roads and pretty much no place to go for top speed.
So, up here, torque is the ultimate thing to have. It doesn't matter if you can go 800 MPH, all that matters is who can get to 60 MPH the fastest, because that's all you have room for.
Down south where there are long open stretches of road, I suppose top speed my start to mean something.

@museman007 You don't know what the hell you are talking about, good luck finding a viper witha "v8"...current fastest IRS 6-spd car is a supra at 7.91 (SW's supra) and when it comes to top end power...no viper can touch a supra...check out the Texas Mile, only the Lambo and Ford GT are currently faster!!

No NA Viper would ever have kept with Woon's 8 second Supra like that.. That looked like a 9 second car. It's not just HP it's how the car is setup to handle the HP - good 60 FT times. Either way, both cars are extremely fast.

Race the street and dot legal viper on here running mid 7's in the quarter. here's the catch. The supra has to be street and dot legal down to the tires like the viper( no weight reductions,no rollcage, all options intact including a/c). I think dodge's top supercar (stock) more than held it's own against a roided rice rocket.

@Koun15CyP It has a 2JZGTE. Stroker 3.4L from Titan Motorsports & Triple Walbro Fuel pumps. Aftermarket = ENGINE & FUEL MANAGEMENT. Stock is interior, transmission, differential, Chassis. Supra engines are beasts with single turbo setups. Chassis MA70, JZA70, JAZ80. or in other terms. 7MGTE, 1JZGTE, 2JZGTE. You name it.

This car has gone through various tunes and modes of tunes so that is the reason for the quotations for the power figure. At the time of the recording the car was known for the 1400whp dyno under a certain tune so that is why I used that number. I have also seen this car push "just" 1000whp on the dyno too.

Well, if you want to get into street legal race cars....
There's a Camaro out there that runs 7's and is street legal. Also a Camaro out there that runs mid 6's and is street legal.
So by all relative comparison, this Supra is still slow as all fucking hell.
Now if it ran on pump gas, it would be competitive. But since it's running race gas, it's still a full 2 seconds slower than the equivalent muscle car.
So, it pretty much means shit.

I don't get why people don't get over the fact that a bigger engine with all else being equal (boost, fuel, RPM, weight, tire size, driver ability) means a faster car. Hence, no matter what, V8 > I6. Sure, you can rev that I6 to 10,000 RPM and run 40 PSI of boost, but what if you did that to the V8 as well? It would be a blow out. It would hardly be a race at all!

Race car, isn't it? Viper is a full 3000# or more, I'm betting that HKS car is a fiberglass body over a tubular frame. The Viper is an all steel car perhaps with a roll cage, full interior. The HKS is probably as little sheetmetal as they can legally have, with a seat and a harness and nothing else as far as an interior goes.

I've been over this before.
This car runs on RACE GAS. Hence, it is not a STREET CAR. If you want to bring street legal cars that run on race gas into the equation, there's a 6 second twin turbo Camaro that's street legal.
If this car ran on pump gas, it would be closing the gap between the fastest V8 and the fastest I6. As it runs on race gas, it's still way off.
Given two cars with everything else being equal (driver skill, fuel, boost, RPM, tires, etc) the bigger engine will always win.

I don't see the big deal with running on 'race fuel' on the street -- it's legal here in Minnesota and technically it IS pump fuel because you can literally pump it right into your gas tank at certain public gas stations, but the fuel simply costs more than Premium. Remember, we're talking about a ~200ci engine here that pushes 1500hp+, not some crazy 500+ci beast -- so with that small amount of internal displacement, you can imagine the extreme cylinder pressures, EGTs, & req ign timing.

Right, now imagine a race fuel running V8 that revs to 12,000 RPM, runs 50 PSI of boost and makes 3500 HP+. Now you see why when all else is equal, the bigger engine will always win.
Believe it or not, there IS a reason why most competitive drag racing, road racing and just about every kind of racing uses a V8. It's a good design that is extremely versatile and powerful.
You don't exactly see many F1 cars running I4's do you?

You're dumb as hell. The supra holds the standing mile record at 242mph over V10 vipers and countless V8's. Power is nothing if you can't put it down to the ground. Granted most built V8s put down some serious low end torque to get off the line, but at the top end the 2JZ-GTE just destroys them all. Different cars for different strokes. I hate your average day honda and riced out economy car but the Supra will forever be the highway king of cars.

I guess it depends on where you're from. I'm from the north, where we have lots of twisty roads and pretty much no place to go for top speed.
So, up here, torque is the ultimate thing to have. It doesn't matter if you can go 800 MPH, all that matters is who can get to 60 MPH the fastest, because that's all you have room for.
Down south where there are long open stretches of road, I suppose top speed my start to mean something.
But where I'm from, it's all about acceleration.
